any crawlers in MN?

Its Alive!!!!!

my gopher is finally finished. to go along with the sloped hood's raised height i added some aluminum side panels at the same height as the hood, and a back aluminum panel with bent sides. i also made a roof panel of course, and i made it so that it extended past the roof frame, and then i bent in over on the edges to form fit it, and i also made an aluminum shelf in the back for my reciever. i left the side windows and front window open. the back upper links cole included with the chassis are too long to have the axle level, but they fit alright with the axle angled backward. is it supposed to be like that, or should i make my own upper links the level out the axle. i will hopefully get pics up tomorrow, but i will need to e-mail them to someone with a star to post them for me as i cannot post pics. i do not have a custom battery pack built for it yet, so for a test run i duct taped a 3300mah stick pack to the hood. it drove well and was easy to crawl with, probably because its suspension acts like the torsion i drove, but with more articulation. i now need to get some internal shock springs because i have to have extra lead weight up front to bring the front down. it sat on top of the snow crust well, but on really steep inclines the front would dig in and get stuck. it looks like i will be able to disect my 2 stick packs and make my own custom pack that should fit according to my measurements. i am so happy to have it finished.

the links you made prevented the rear shocks from fully compressing, but they have been bent enough to let the shocks fully compress.

my new gopher was finished, but i took it apart to strip the paint and re-do it because it was coming off easiy while assembling it and my dad said that it was because i didnt sand the primer to rough it up before painting it. also, i had made 4 body panels and a roof, but then my dad gave me an idea. i cut out a new plate of aluminum to make one piece that covers the roof, back, and side. my side panels only go up to the height of my raised, sloped hood. when i drove it the snow crust up here in isanti was thick enough to drive on, so even with no rocks you can drive, but on an incline steeper than 45 degrees the front digs in and the back follows. it probably could get out of a dig in if i had paddles, but i do not want to spend my money on them. i still have to get a few custom packs made for the new crawler. i was able to test run it by duct taping a stick pack to the hood:lol: it will be functional before the snow melts so i will be alright.

First of all sorry if this has been posted and I missed it. Are you allowing the edge chassis in the comps? Thanks.

Well Al this is how it works, Nicklepimp, freetimecrawler and Etype R usually have things well under control they have done this from the beginning. They are always looking for our input on matters that have club impact. On comp days they need help with course judging and score keeping so they have some time to crawl and mix with the club.

This year as we descend on the MN. State park at Taylors Falls we will have more members. It's important that we have a good image are orderly and don't become a nuisance to other park visitors. We all need to marshal that.

Many of us have asked that same question in the past and I'm sure the fellas appreciate it. "thumbsup"

Ok. I'll be bringing 1 or 2 guys with me on a regular basis to be spectators and they said they are willing to judge. They just need someone to teach them how to do it.

well I thought I might as well post on here to say wut up?!?!?!

I am in the Army stationed at Fort Snelling (yes there are full time army guys there) I am an Officer and new to the area. I have 2 trail 2.2 crawlers (traill cause of rear steer and length) but i will have a comp rig by the time the season starts. will be gone most of July and August.

so looking forward to meeting everyone and I am making a practice pile in my RC room.
