any crawlers in MN?

If you guys like this man moved crap there's miles of it on the shorline (very wheelchair friendly). Farther east or west like jay cook or lester park is real terrain like enger.
But there is very little parking where the rocks are and where there is parking there is a lack of rock but if a person likes to hike it there is a ton of places- but I think as far as holding a comp for reasons of parking and handicap accesss Enger is the perfect place-the shoreline has the lakewalk but as far as getting down to the rocks it is usually tricky footing until you get to Brighton Beach which has parking and rocks but I hate crawling next to the lake because of the water part of it you just never know when something will happen on the shoreline.

I am not sure about getting up to Duluth this month still, the 11th might work out for me.

Lets plan on having a meeting soon though, like November soon. I don't think waiting until Febuary is a good idea, everyone is still thinking about crawling.

Here is a list of things that we should talk about.

  • How did the two seasons work for everyone?
  • Time flow of the courses
  • Time limit as we continue to grow, we will need one next year
  • Score sheets
  • How we handle prizes, Kevin suggested raffling all the prizes off, maybe a ticket per comp like we did the first season with a few prizes?
  • scale class and rules for it

These are just things I could think of this morning, off the top of my head. Please feel free to add to the list. And toss out dates for when we should do this, and a location.

I understand why you want to hold the meeting now, but I don't know if I'd have the time until at least December (moving sucks:x). Plus, do we want to wait till other clubs (MN Nitro Series, MN Drag Racing, etc.) schedules come out so we can try to plan our schedule around them again?

To add to this suggestion... I was suggesting making trophies or plaques for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Then raffle off all of the prizes. Just an idea.

We can still have a meeting in feb, to cover the dates. But lets iron out all the real details now, while our minds are still on the business of crawling.

What about Saturdays?

I think Saturdays would work out better for Denny and I, when it comes to going to Duluth...

-note- Denny says the sooner the better. And if we get a date picked real soon, there's a good chance he can make it.

I know both of us are really wanting to go up there and crawl!"thumbsup"

i'm with Storm on the sat duluth events , that way people can come up fri after work and crash out , and bail on sun morning .....

my days start at 6am every time we go to taylors

Its been a wile.

So how is every one doing? Things are ok for me. I was wondering if any one would be interested in buying my crawlers? As much as I love it I just cant do this at this time in my life. Just pm me if you want any info on the trucks.

Hi, I’m new here and just wonted to know when you all are getting together agene.

Welcome we just ended the 2007 Comp season a couple of weeks ago. Keep tuned in for a upcoming club meeting sometime soon. We have our regular Comps at Taylors Falls, its a great place to crawl. Even has a fair amount of spectators as well which I think adds allot. We had a guest competitor from the Colorado group last summer (Slugz) and he was very impressed with our Comp area. There's talk about having a event next year in Duluth with the Twin Ports Club as well.

My son in law and I just got started this past spring and had allot of fun. Great group of people lots of different personalities and fun to be with. They are also willing to share and help a new member. They have some very talented builder drivers as well the guys at the top are pretty serious about their crawling. But not to serious.

Well the weekend is coming up and this was one of the final dates we figured we might get a GTG going, looks like I might have a last minute trip for family but Chad said he would still be there if there is interest and Steve might be able to also. Please post up here if you are interested----> http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90069&page=2 and we can go from there, or if there is another datethat works. The park is closed so it might be a very short walk to the rocks but as far as I know it is not against any laws/rules to hang out there they just lock the gate and stop upkeep for the season.
