ANTIGACHO following the sendero

extreme makeover for this rig

I sold the chassis, bumper and rear cage

IMG-20200525-231132.jpg

all that parts were sold for $140 USD shipped. bargain price in my opinion

I am planning to install the LCG gspeed chassis, I already receive it but I need the new power wagon body and the team garage hack servo mount to proceed with this build

IMG-20200621-103938.jpg

my intention was to reuse the club5 dual servo mount, but apparently the TGH servo mount fits better

IMG-20200622-000913.jpg

I also have to design some 3d printed braces and electronics mounts

Motor and ESC also will be upgraded
I already have a holmes hobbies trailmaster ble pro ESC but I am waiting for the brushless PULLER PRO Stubby motor who is on the way

Awesome job on the cage, thanks for the excellent deal [emoji106]. (Even if the postal service did lose it for several weeks, lol).

HI JEFF!

I am glad you receive it. thanks for your patience
correos de mexico is a pain in the *** I always have to deal with long delivery time

Yes

last week I receive this awesome builders table from NWSD
I also 3d print some table addons shared by FalveyDesignWorX

It is an expensive tool but it will be helpful for this and future projects

I still waiting for the team garage hack servo mount that I forgot to include on my last order from Team Gspeed chassis

By the way, I want to say thanks to the gspeed chassis manager who gave me a shipping discount on my last orders

I always had to pay expensive shipping cost so every little discount is well received and really appreciated, thanks to Gabriel Fleming

well this is the gspeed-element project mounted on that building table

I notice that the Element RC stealth-x transmission sits too high, so I used my Dremel + router accessories to carve a hole on the Delrin skid plate lowering the transmission around 5-6 mm

I ordered the proline power wagon body for this project (still on the way 40 days and counting) I want to pair it with a flatbed where I could mount the ESC in the back, I also want to reuse the powershift RC dead mand switch that I had previous the chassis swap

I found that the salinas flatbed would be helpful but they don't sell the STL files, but I notice that a member of the Facebook group "Team GSPEED Chassis" share a similar flatbed, I asked and he kindly shares the STL file of this flatbed

I don't know anything about CAD design so I am using tinkercad.com to customize the model

My intention is to print something like this

I will post the result after 3d print

Nice idea to carve out the skid plate!"thumbsup"

That flatbed is going to look great!

flatbed

I printed the black flatbed using petg filament . for the radiator I used pla

IMG-20200706-225825.jpg

I found that a 70mm aluminum link can be adapted to reinforce the flatbed

IMG-20200708-142616.jpg

xt60 connector soldered, battery base glued to the flatbed , ESC mounted using Double Sided Mounting Tape

IMG-20200708-210234.jpg

finally, radiator glued and flatbed mounted

Some progress on this build

I notice that the basic external spool HeyOK Servo Winch doesn't fit on this low center of gravity chassis. the spool hit the axle,
fortunately, I have the BP Custom Winch Servo Mount on my spare parts box and only require a few modifications to fit on this chassis, I am also using vanquish servo mounts

I can take advantage of the free spot on the dual servo plate so using tinkercad.com I designed this basic receiver box

5849849.jpg

I going to take off the reefs servo to use the 3 brothers G-13 servo instead. I don't want to use the extra BEC on this project

IMG-20200711-140200.jpg

the small receiver box is available for download at
thingiverse.com

IMG-20200711-202351.jpg

this receiver box will be useful to get a clean wiring

IMG-20200711-202845.jpg

still waiting for the body so meanwhile, I have to figure out how to mount the regular size battery

IMG-20200711-210247.jpg

I finally decide that the best way to mount the battery is using the element large battery tray but I need a custom brace between the chasis raiils to hold the tray, so the 3d printer comes to the recue

I designed this simple brace that follow the battery tray bolt pattern, It fits perfect between the chassis rails but I need to drill a couple of holes to mount it

jhu.jpg

the design is not perfect but it works, I also shaved the bottom of the battery tray so it sits over the rails

IMG-20200714-150757.jpg

more than a month and the proline power wagon body still on the way meanwhile I can work on the wiring

My girls and I are New to the hobby, bought the Enduro as our first truck, loving its far. So happy to have found this forum, you guys are all giving us inspiration for upgrading our truck.
This thread is amazing, antigacho, wow!! Thank you so much for the detailed build.

Build is looking great!"thumbsup"

Nice design on the receiver box and battery tray mount!

I may have to print out you receiver box for one of my builds. I like how compact it is. Thanks for sharing!"thumbsup"

thanks for your kind words

the rc crawler scene in my city is very small so RC forums were really helpful to learn about this awesome hobby, basically all that I know about this hobby comes from forums and youtube reviews

If you want to upgrade your enduro I really recommend to swap the chassis instead installing aluminum shock towers and braces

Hi B-MOW

the small receiver box was specifically designed for this project, I am not sure it that work for other receiver brands

but is someone is working on a similar project this little box fits perfect on team garage hack double servo mount

I also upload the battery brace .stl file to thingiverse

I completed the wiring on this rig

clean work in my opinion

I have to build a bumper, but i can´t go forward until the proline power wagon body arrives

I ordered the body at amain hobbies 54 days in transit and counting, Im afraid that the package is lost;

estupido servicio postal mexicano

some progres on this build

I finally got the proline power wagon body
so now I can build the bumper

first thing to solve is the bumper design, so I took a lot of mesures an draw some basic designs that I can follow before cutting any steel parts

IMG-20200916-152038.jpg

IMG-20200916-152333.jpg

I am using harris 56% silver solder for this brazing work

IMG-20200919-143902.jpg

notching the parts and set it in place before brazing was the most dficult part in my opinion

IMG-20200919-153629.jpg

I also include a fairlead for the winch line, this is the final result

IMG-20200920-102316.jpg

last steep was brazing a couple of tabs where I can mount the headlight cups, then conect that lights

IMG-20200920-101843.jpg

Now I have to trim the body cab and solve how to mount the body, I dont want to Use clips
