Hi I just got a RTR dingo yesterday and despite reading the manual for it I can't understand whether I can run a winch off it or not. Because I know you need a 3rd channel. mine says 3ch on the reciever with an empty slot. If that is for the winch how do I use it off my controller??

It is more cost effective for the manufacturer to design and build only one type of reciever, and the extra channel ports allow you to power the system with a BEC, or run the power leads for lights or a winch, for example, without costly Y, or complicated splitter cables.

Aside from that, Axial has a new DIG unit in the works for the Wraith , and I wouldnt be suprised if they put out an RTR with a new 3 channel radio and the DIG included,
and they will have the 3 channel recievers in hand already.

But thats just speculation on my part.....

OK thanks! why put a 3ch receiver but not radio?? o well....
As cogfounder stated, it's a matter of cost. To design & stock 2 different part numbers of RX's can get expensive. The cost to designing a single part number (in this case a RX) but maybe not using all the bits within is fairly cheap.
Look at LosiKid & the hacked FlySky radios. All you really need is different programming to get a lot more out of the radio.8)

..there is a note in the RC4WD Bulldog 9300XT Winch (Wireless Version) web page, stating that it is not waterproof.....is there a 1/10th scale winch that is waterproof? What about the 3Racing, is it waterproof?..
