719 Scale RC 4x4 Thread/Trail Runs/Rigs etc..

Lots of fun today guys! Torture testing of the Gelande 2 is complete, and now its time to tune this thing for a little less suck! We had discussed weight in the wheels... How much weight are we talking? I am considering buying a set of high mass wheels (I'm lazy...LoL) 4oz per wheel (without tire or foam) sound about on point? Also got some bottles of shock oil for testing.

Thanks for rolling with us today. I have a full wrap of the weights in my yota. I think it comes out to roughly 4 oz. per wheel. I think David runs a bit more since you guys have those top heavy whores.

Sent from my Galaxy far far away.

I had a ton of fun, despite my ill performing pig of a rig. Something is up with the front end. seems too stiff, might be my pan hard bar is too long. Either way lots of work! Castle link set-up the BEC for 7.4 volts to the power hungry servo, swap out the Drift 35T motor for my Axial 55T, add some front end chassis weight, toss in some 30 weight in the front shocks, 60 in the rears, cut out the back seat area and add a plastic tray to run a bigger battery. Turn my body mounts upside down and see if I can get away with a set of RC4WD Flashpoint 1.9s with pitbull SUPER stiff foams. Yay! Tweaks N tunes!

I run about 1/4lb of weights in my wheels i think in each but i dont remember. Its a little fat in the front end area, gives my 55t a workout at davids coarse tonight as you have to keep up on the maintenance regularly otherwise it will make for a bad time, i caught mine before i smoked it cause i havent cleaned it in forever...

Thanks for the reminder! I have never cleaned the 35T Yokomo Drift motor I was using. And I spent 2 years, 3-4 times a week, at the drift track filling that thing with carpet fiber lol. 1/4 lbs seems like a INSANE amount! I picked up a set of high mass wheels from "China happy land rip off original recaster yay fun store" that weigh in around 3.9oz each. In hindsight, buying five was stupid. Spares need no weight. Figure it is a good starting point. Lots of nice looking wheels out there, but it seems with Landies, bland is good lol.

Lol can never have enough weight

SAWBACK IT BRO SAWBACK IT! That right you get that shit. See what happens when I dont get out on the weekends.

Dang Mike I guess so..and possibly forget your meds?

So the Sawback is slated to be traded and I think thats why he's a little sad...lol. I'll miss it aswell.

So the Sawback is good huh? Got a buddy buying his first. I recommended a SCX10 but he wants to be different and leafs, now we gotta decide between a Sawback and a Trail Stomper from RC4WD. Thoughts?

It'll be alright dude..I hope there are some more comps around our area this year. Even though I'll still travel to the north for some fun with the Denver guys.

Ok fellas The Crawl Space is having another scale event this weekend. It's the first Scale Adventure of the season...and it's @ Red Rocks! It's open to all classes and is $10 per rig. I didn't get to attend the Halloween adventure so I think I/we should go and play. It'll have a 9am check in and game starts @10am.

Ooooo man, gotta get busy on the Gelande, I doubt my weighed wheels will be in by then, but I can run with the dirt grabbers. I will try tossing some weight behind the front bumper in the mean time to help it out. Either way, should be a good learning experience, and a good time.
