719 Scale RC 4x4 Thread/Trail Runs/Rigs etc..

Well gents, its 12:32 Am and I'm calling it. I got my D90 body finished, eliminated all rub with the larger tires. And Figured I would make my final adjustments with the electronics. I'm not sure how, but my backwards battery connection last week killed the reverse function on my Vapor Pro ESC (And made it more then slightly twitchy), killed my Hitec HS-5646WP servo, and my Castle BEC. I raided the parts drawer and slapped a Savox digital SC-1251mg from one of my old drift cars in, and my RC4WD ESC w/BEC. But, the ESC is a bloody Tamiya connection, and all my batteries are deans. I'll try to source a adapter early in the AM, but if the Savox seems to have issues I think I'll cut my losses :( if nothing else, I'll show my face and help out where I can.

Brought it down to the wireless controller took a shit hooked the winch up to power and it came on but getting nothing from the controller........

Has anyone ever used a robotics servo in their truck? I'm looking at one right now, it is a Futaba RS403PR, the specs seems like a very nice replacement for my hitec (190oz at 6 volts, coreless, digital) but the big red letters saying "FOR ROBOTICS USE ONLY" are being all big...And red... lol

I've been using a Hitec 7950TH servo and it's never given me problems. I used a Castle BEC with it before but now run it through the Holmes BRXL.

Does anyone locally use FlySky radios? Any thoughts on them? I'm currently using a DX3C but it doesn't work with my HeyOK light controller so I need a different radio. DX3E and DX3S models are also not a good match with the HeyOK controllers. Al (HeyOK) said FlySky, Futaba, and Spektrum DX3R/DX3 are okay to use.

Hopefully once I get my lighting/radio issue resolved the Defender will be ready for the trails...

I have been using a flysky gt3b for a couple years now. It has been the best $40 investment I have made in my crawlers. The only complaint I have is the fact that since it uses 8 AA batteries it can seem a bit heavy. I have some 3s 1k mah lipos that I will use in out one my laziness wears off some! The rx is still the original one and is in the crawler I run the most. A sportsman class comp rig. Been a fantastic set up for me.

Dang, what a day! If you weren't at Palmer for the Scale Comp you missed out today. Awesome weather and great testing of rig/driver performance in all classes. The Crawl Space was a great host as always with good people wanting to help, judge , setup and teach how to compete in a real competition. The 719SCALE group did great by just showing up and supporting the local scale crawler scene but in our typical fashion we performed well and represented nicely. It's always a good time when you take/learn something when having a blast in setting of a comp....I always do..that's why I go.

The Flysky FS3GTB was the first non-RTR radio I purchased, and the last thus far. I've heard complaints about response speed, but for me personally I've used it with a Traxxas Slash 4x4, HPI Blitz ESE, HPI Mini Trophy, Hot Bodies Cyclone TC Drift car with a HIGH SPEED servo and brushless system, Hot Bodies Cyclone S touring car for a modified Vintage Trans Am series in Japan, Axial SCX-10, and now my Gelande II. Flawless in every application. The only complaint I have is mine arrived with a small crack in the screen. I have not yet used a winch but I'm sure the third channel is up to the task. It also has the port for VRC, can use a Lipo, and apparently there is a way to "hack" the thing to get access to channels (Apparently it is a re-purposed aircraft board wedged in there). Dig it!

And the SDI tires are among the few that can tuck without chopping the GMC

Crawlerado has laid claim to the SDI tires and the dirt grabbers lol. How does $25 sound for the Swampers? I used them twice on Okinawa, so GENUINE Japanese red clay is included lol
