2014 RC4WD East Coast Scale Challenge (August 22-24)

Oh, one more thing. The swap meet was AWESOME!! I both bought and sold stuff. Great idea whoever came up with it and I hope its even bigger next year.

I still can't complain about a 24th. Considering I came in cold with little to no practice after the Keystone winter series.

I might have gone on a short trail run or two, but had NO summer comp runs of ANY kind whatsoever. And it showed on the first course. Had to knock the rust off. Hahaha!!!!

Still, had a great time and met some awesome people. I will do this again next year. Already planning some updates/upgrades for the near future on the truck. Got me a few goodies to install. ;)

What a great weekend!

Hats off to John, Tom, and everyone else involved in putting on this amazing event. We had a great time. It was nice to finally put some faces with names, meet a bunch of new folks, and hang with some of our old friends.

We were honored to be a part of such a great event. A big thanks to all the other vendors who showed up, donated, etc...

Congratulations to all the drivers, especially the winners. "thumbsup"

We are excited, and plan to be a part of future events.

@John - I don't remember that duck having a "sneaky Pete" mustache...

Thanks again for all of the support.

How's does that song go? Rubber ducky your the one. You make bath time so much fun....lol

Hey Turtle, you got an ETA on pics? I heard you clicking away on my trucks and I'd love to see what you got!

Man, I'm so glad class 1 scores weren't affected. I was praying that I had actually landed a honest 10th place, lol. That is the best score I've ever had at a comp (short of small local stuff) I chalk it up to the great competition, drivers and courses constantly pushing the envelope and ourselves to be better builders and mature as drivers. The most embarrasing bit from this comp was falling down the hill at the KOTR. But let me just say this. I was shocked at how many people stopped running (literally) to see if I was ok and to make sure I wasn't badly hurt. It was heart warming believe it or not to see how connected we all are as enthusiests of this hobby. To me it's a family, not a bunch of strangers and that's what keeps me coming back. I was humbled to recieve the awards in the Show N Shine as well. Thank you to all of those who voted for my truck. For those who didn't, you're driving me to find that extra touch that will earn your votes next year. It may seem simple, but those $0.50 ribbons mean alot to me. I got to meet alot of customers and online friends that I've never met in person and co-pilot for the man with the hardest name to pronounce, Mr. Shane Szczerba. Big Chad W. (Chad30W), Charlie (CD13), Zack (AKA Shrek) and Shane (Szczerba) make the best camping partners and kept me in stitches the whole time. How many hobbies can you say bring this type of friendship? I can't think of many. How many sports do you see guys taking parts off of their rigs to get others back on the trail? Very few. How many sports would a guy who's on the clock stop to check on a fellow driver? Again, the answer is very few. I'm truely honored to be a part of this family and to be accepted into this sport with open arms. With all that being said I have only one question to ask....

IS IT AUGUST YET?!?!?!

Very true, I came unprepared with batteries, I think during the TTC event after the hill climb I was offered by many people any packs I might need. Great group of people for sure.

While we're waiting for Turtle's shots, here's a few I snapped from the weekend.

Ribbons! Yay!

My gratitude to all the folks who voted for my trucks and miniature me. I had an amazing time, and you all helped raise the bar on scale competitions. Next year instead of just building trucks that look good, I'm going to try and build a couple that actually perform.

A hearty CHEERS! to all of you. I can't wait for it to be August yet.

Here are the pics I snapped over the weekend.
