2014 RC4WD East Coast Scale Challenge (August 22-24)

Ummm.... Where am I? I'm so beat! Nicole and I are driving home now. I have HOURS of video to go through. Hopefully the low light conditions under that AMAZING tree canopy.

Fantastic location.
Well organized event.
Awesome job providing food, a step above almost any crawling event I've been to.
I'm so happy I was able to attend, I wish I would have got to run those courses!

2015 Scale Series! 2015 Scale Series! 2015 Scale Series!

This is one of the gems i just had to bring home to Jeep land. Thanks Again mjderstine. "thumbsup"

2015 Scale Series! 2015 Scale Series! 2015 Scale Series!

For the love of all that is crawler.. please keep it NORTH and keep it EAST! Those guys in California have a comp/event every weekend + Axialfest! Why should they have all the fun!!

To all the competitors...
I think you all know that we do the best we can with accuracy. Knowing that, there is definitely some things that I need to implement for the 2015 series. The biggest thing is going to be putting the responsibility of each driver to make sure that things (Scale Points, Course Scores, etc) are correct. I know for a fact that the "zeros" where double checked on the sheet.

I would love to say that I could chase down every driver to check and double check things...but I think all of you can be sensitive to the huge amount of work that goes into this.

I can promise you for the 2015 RC4WD Scale Challenge there will be checks and balances that will involve the drivers' initials on all info that needs to be entered by us.

Regarding the scoring...I will be looking at that and talking with SORCCA.

Thanks for your understanding.

John

When I turned my sheet in I had 40 scale points so unless someone, being the tech guys, misplaced my sheet, then I feel cheated. Also BadBKO got best interior in class 3 but yet had ZERO for scale points..

Bobby,
I am sensitive to that and the last thing I want is someone to feel cheated from one of my events. There is a learning curve on checks and balances...and this is one that we will learn from.

I can promise you that the form will have an area for the driver to confirm their scale points were documented.

I will try to dig through all the papers to see where the breakdown was to avoid this for the future.

I am sorry...and please don't have this tarnish the fun you had this weekend.

Thank you John and everyone involved for making this happen. You guys did a great job! It was great to meet new drivers and their rigs along with revisiting with some of the other drivers from King of Guru's. Love that FC rig!

Trust me I understand the headache that it is, I run the events in Florida but a 28th that's should've been an 11th or 12th is a helluva difference..

And with BadBKO it would've changed a lot..

Pain4WD, BadBKO and I all had our scores on card stock paper so it was super thick and comments were made about how awesome they were.

Trust me I'm not trying to be a pain but do you at least see where I and some of the others are coming from.. And don't you think that if there were ZERO scale points someone should've checked with that driver, at an event this large someone having ZERO scale points just seems like it should've thrown up a red flag..

Hey John. I am chalking my focus on this points thing to the fact that i spent so much time having fun, meeting new and old friends alike, and being at one of the best events on any summer scaler calender to the fact that i am just beat from the great time i had over the weekend.
i think the passion we all have for this stuff is coming out like this since we are all tired, spent, perhaps hungover (Youngblood). "thumbsup"

honestly no hard feelings. just healthy discussion.

RC4WD ECSC was an absolute blast! Such a sweet community of cool guys and a great atmoshere for this hobby. Screw Loose is almost 1 year old and this was our first major event to represent our company in this way. Rick from Supershafty has been a mentor and business partner for this journey, thank you Rick! We made some great connections with other companies and we are super excited for this next year. At this event, we solidified our first offical team driver, Mr. Todd Grundish from the Ohio Gurus clan. Great guy with excellent character, a talented driver and someone we trust will be a solid ambassador for our brand. At this event, we discovered that the "Big Bag" of screws need an awesome sturdy case, so these "Beefy" cases will become a regular part of our inventory. Thanks again to all the drivers, Rc4wd, CowRC, Supershafty and the rest of East Coast Scale Challenge experience.

This weekend was the most fun I've had in while. I spend so much time building and tinkering I forget how fun it is to just get a bunch of guys together. Even at 11:30-12 at night for an impromptu night run. Or just hang out and have a few beverages. Thanks to everyone who has obviously put in a ton of time to make this happen.

Ok, my bad ... Technically you are right but have you ever, EVER seen a class 3 have ZERO points. That's my point, there is no way you can have a ZERO point scaler.

Just asking don't you know exactly how many scale point each rig has printed on a sheet before you even drive a course? I thought I saw gcm filling out some sheet.

That was the scale point sheet that was turned into Tech that was then verified by the marshalls. .. The judges didn't know the scale points of each rig.

I said it to you personally but i'll say it again...Absolutely Amazing event you put on John!!! it was truly epic! I never had some much fun while being tired, sweaty, hot, dirty and sore!! I am already making plans for next years rigs! Can't say enough!!

Who won best in show?

I won best of show for my class 3 Isuzu as well as best paint.

I also won best build for my Class 1 Scout "thumbsup"

I wish my wheel hadn't fallen off in the KOTR I probably would have had a legitimate shot at first. Oh well. The course was awesome and I had a great time meeting everyone.
