I’ve dubbed this another name as I got it on a trade and it was rough. But I don’t think I should be throwing around the s**t box name on here too much lol.

Started with this turd. Came with another truck in trade. Trying to fix it up with spare parts, little amazon, and some quality electronics. Will see if I can turn it into a capable crawler.

**Photo when I first got it. The fusion system was given to my son for his ascent, which I also got in this trade**

-Carbon fiber Amazon frame
-SELF TAPPERS holding body posts and braces in along with terrible amounts of Velcro
-holmes hobby brushed motor setup and a stripped trans (mounts on bottom)
-weird skid that was way too wide
-mismatched screws, Phillips and hex
-rx and tx that were messed up, probably got water on rx

I’ve since stripped it down. Removed as many self tappers I could. Got new braces for the frame and an Amazon t case and motor/ spur mount. Fusion se 1800kv system.

Still have body posts that are not sturdy but haven’t found anything I want to use to fix it.

Looks like this now IMG_1130.jpeg

Got some brass to keep the front end down, first crawl with it did decent but needed some help.

Have more to do to it. The steering link is too long causing the opposite wheel to be turned while the other is straight. Also, have three bodies coming for it.

New proline Cherokee body
Team c 4 runner
Team c Land Cruiser

Had to shave down the Amazon sliders it came with, little tab on each end was hanging up on everything!

Thinking about sticking with the orange, as I can just swap bodies when I feel like it. I’ll keep this updated as I go along.

Fixed some things on the ol girl today.

First up- steering fixed. My mistake, I put the steering link on top for a high clearance type deal and messed it all up. With these brass knuckles I had to run the screw upside down

Also found some body post mounts, I don’t love the offset ones as the holes always seem to be in the wrong place…. But they are better than a screw straight through the post itself. No more self tappers in the rear now! Although that rear “high” post is driving me insane. Doesn’t fit these body post points well so I have to figure something out before I go drilling holes in the new bodies I have coming.

A little sneak fairlead for a servo winch coming for it. Need to snag another bumper like the front for the rear as well. Very simple, I like em.

And some wheel wideners. Just 12mm to push the tires out a little. One day I may just get some deep dish wheels for it and lose the wideners but for now these will do.

Somebody before you loved scAmazon. Self-tappers and mismatched hardware...ugh!

The purple parts actually look pretty nice. How's the quality?

The self tappers crack me up. Like even Amazon sells hardware kits!

Actually, they are not too bad. Kinda putting this thing back together with Amazon as well lol. I don’t wanna drop a ton on it, I have other rigs I do that with.

I say that an I’m eyeballing a reefs servo for it in gold.

This truck will be with us on trail runs and if someone’s rig is down or someone doesn’t have one, they can run this truck.

Just realized I posted this pos in the wrong category. This is not a scale build, my bad guys.

This transition from RCC on tapatalk to an actual browser page is messing me up, so many different things I never saw on tapatalk.

Feel free to move it to an appropriate category admins.

Looks like a scale build to me. What would you consider it?

If it can fit in here that’s fine, I just don’t wanna offend the guys who are building ultra scale rigs, that takes actual skill. This is just throwing pretty parts at a trash can lol

That’s a very appropriate category for this one!
Whether RC or otherwise, I love a good project... breathing new life into something in need of some TLC. Biggest problem that I run into is becoming too passionate about resurrecting something and subsequently sinking too much time or money into it lol. Anyway... looks like a worthwhile project... always nice to have an extra vehicle that you can lend to someone and not worry about getting damaged.

Same problem I have problem with every rig. Get obsessed with parts for them, that whole ,cant keep things stock thing, really gets to me.

Yeah, have quite a few buddies who don’t have rigs yet and this will be a good one to use. Usually brings them into the hobby shop for a rig after a trail run with us, which is great for the hobby.

Got a good deal on some Amazon wheels, so I’m gonna throw them on this rig. They are pretty slick though, super deep dish (I really like the deep dish look) and the splatter paint/ whatever it is, is a nice touch.

Found new body posts that might actually work with this thing too, I’ll toss those on tomorrow.

Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a few rigs lately incl the TRX-4M, VS4-10, and Rhino Yue One... I know they'll all be money pits. I've spent too much recently on rigs I already own lol.

Always interesting taking out someone unfamiliar... Sounds like you're doing a great job recruiting!

I hear you there. Had an itch to build a trx4m and went wild. I do enjoy building the rigs the most. Just finished a Traxxas blast too lol an easy one but changed the boat 100%.

Yeah, locally we have a lot of people into crawling, so getting the guys we wheel with to get little rigs, is easy lol

Installed the new posts, rear was easy. Front had to be trimmed, adjusted and redrilled, of course!

Body now fits right, and doesn’t have a single self tapper anymore.

Mounted up the new wheels and took some shots. These wideners may have to come off, it’s a bit too wide, but we’ll see how it does on the track we typically run on.

Now that the body post fiasco is over, bring on the new bodies! Honestly thinking of a red, white and blue one, because merica.

Now, which servo should I run. I don’t like cheap servos, never had one last. I typically buy NSDRC servos but they don’t have a color I want, full color that is.

I really like the 299 from reefs but not enough torque imo. The 500 brass edition is super nice or the shift rcs is another option.

Anyone who’s had either reefs or shift have any input?

Took the wideners off because it was wayyy too wide. The new stance is much better. A few more things to do to it.

We don't care about offending people on this site! The snowflakes can melt! Your truck definitely fits here. Looking good.

Settled on a shiftsrc gt3 servo for this hooptie. Should have plenty of torques for it.

Received tracking for my two bodies coming from Asia tees, that’s exciting! Proline needs to ship the Cherokee release body too. They will probably all show up at the same time and I’ll be stressed out until I get them all painted lol
