1/6 Wraith/Nylint TJ Jeep + scale quad

Hey watch your tone

the Exceed links are just a little bigger than a 3mm set screw

and they don't sell links that small

and I don't know how to make longer links cause,

and if I had the right longer links, and if cut them to fit, I can't drill and tap them

cause I can't find all thread that small and it would bend pretty easy, even if I put tubing over the threads

too thread into the 2 mm rod ends and I don't want to have glue them in

so I need to look online and see

what links I can find

and if I add 3mm nuts it shortens the threads on the set screws, that thread into the links

I will look at Axial they have threaded links in different lengths but there 6mm and maybe too thick

I need to check it out

when you get your Everest

take a look at look and you will see

what I mean

Hey Taco

are you happy now

I went to Home Depot and bought a bunch of 3mm nuts

Then used the 3mm nuts to lengthen the upper links

Now the axles are clocked

And that changed the angle

so :flipoff:

Yeah no

the rod ends are threaded 3mm like normal

so you use 3mm set screws

but the hole in the rod end is 2mm and uses 2mm ball ends that are 2mm and threaded both 3mm and 2mm

I have a bunch of rod ends that threaded 3mm and the hole is 3mm and uses 3mm ball ends and are different lengths to give me adjustment

but I never could find any 2mm rod ends longer than the ones I got now, so there is little to no adjust ability

so I made it work

Been too hot outside for welding...
so I haven't finished the TJ's frame yet.

No matter tho'
as it is allowing me more time to reflect...
and incorporate design altercations prior to it's finalization.

Did add this lip to the upper windshield frame gutter...
holds/locks the windshield firmly into it's upright position.
Yet... will allow room for mounting the bi-mini top whence I make that.

The gutter strip was cut from kydex and three screws secure it in position.
simple, no drilling was required... well except thru the kydex.

Goal here was... to simply offer a more finished transition (look)
and keep the windshield in it's upright position.
Was necessary due to the raising of the roll cage assembly.
Should work swimmingly ;-)

---------------

still waiting for the RedCat Everest to arrive...
should be anytime or early next week.
Then I can mount the quad body on that and call it good.

^ step 2 done before step 1 !?
but I'm actually kind of excited about seeing the results
of the Quad build 8)

Also purchased an HH BR/XL WP for the TJ.
Just in case I wanna run that 6s powa' !?

Will be purchasing an FS GT3-C for the radio business.
Just looking for the best deal before I drop that coin.

that's all for this update

^I think your using this heat as an excuse to play with your boy doll and not weld.:lmao:

Just my .02 I like the lip idea but i would have 90'd it down to cover the cover the clear part of the windshield and screws. That way you would also have an overhead tray/box for a CB, Maps, a place for wiring of your Roof Lights (If your putting a light up there) etc.

Looking forward to the rest and the Orange Quad.

Nope... not making excuse... It's damn hot (and humid) :x

If I bent the windshield's gutter lip, to angle it down and hide the nuts...
it might not leverage as well, against the under surface of the front roll bar hoop
and so... I might have needed do more to keep the windshield in it's upright position.

Well... at least getting that bend angle to it wouldn't be real easy
and I'd have to come up with making a brake with my vise...
the time an money spent... just isn't worth it to me.

But your idea is sound and I do like it.

just trying to keep things as simple as I can.

Probably not going to get too minute with the detailing...
CB's, map's, beer cans, etc. aren't real important for me.
and so... will worry about that later and adjust accordingly.

Seriously tho'
ya can't really see the nuts unless you ignore everything else ;-)

maybe I'll paint them orange or black.. or use a lower profile nut...
or maybe a full width rear view mirror can hide them

Possibly they'll be less noticeable then !?

Or not... and I'll just ignore that they exist ;-)

Just playing with your dolls again

at least you could give GI Joe a weekend pass

to Barbies Play house

and turn into Barbies whore house

lol lol

and gets Joe ****s them all over the weekend

Go Joe

^ meh...

Joe say's he's going phicen
and says screw barbie and that pony she rides ;-)

Joe and Phicen could maybe use barbie's doll house...
turn it into the Phicen Bordello
XHlQ6.gif

no... it's a freakin doll foo' ...Joe has no penis nor life
and rubbing two dolls together doesn't really light muh fire

you've gone wacky mo' facky

type something coherent !?

?

...update....

haven't got much done as far as chassis construction...
because... I've been busy searching/ordering components
necessary for operational completion.

That and printing micro "PowerTank" decals for Mike  Lol/jk
~ too damn many Mikes around here to remember !? ~
sefOO.gif
:argh:

Regardless of my divergence...
I'm slowly obtaining the things I need to get this rig rolling.

Just received an HH WP BR/XL ESC in the mail...
tho' in like new condition... would be considered 2nd hand
so I've got to test it to be sure it functions as it should.
Besides the dean's plug being soldered on by the PO
it was never run according to the PO.

^ so hopefully I will test it soon and find it in good order.

Already have four 3s LiPo's
wired parallel/combined they offer 4400 mah
But I'll likely look at purchasing a single 6s with a similar mah (capacity).

Purchased a new CC bec and I adjusted that to 7.4v using the their link.
I'll be circumventing the BRXL's internal BEC

Purchased a slightly used FS GT3-C
seller's claim was... it was only used 3 times and is in like new condition.

Hopefully the Everest16 shows up tomorrow too !?

Next few days should be cooler...
so hopefully I'll get some welding done.

Still looking to purchase a fresh Solar D772 servo for steering duty
and an axial 3 output light controller...
but no hurry there as I have a usable servo for now
and have spent plenty as of late

-----------

yes Mike... yer steekers are in 'da mail, enroute

Its not my fault you're dumbass

is named after my Desktop and Laptop

:flipoff:

Now rc related business

And now the Minnow is locked and loaded

with .30 caliber machine guns

and I got 2 .50 Cal ammo boxes one opens, one doesn't

then I got 2 .30 Cal ammo boxes for the machine guns

and 2 smaller ammo boxes to sit on the deck somewhere

the pictures are of twin 50's

If I had talent I could make twin 30's

Dell,
Up until Pg4 your build thread was awesome and very enjoyable to read and see your progress. Now it is downright funny to read you two. Sad to see that your thread got a giant Sh#&T taking on it.

meh... it happens.

Dennis is a Menace, sometimes, would seem...
but he's a nice guy even if it don't show.
I Think he's just trying to be funny
and razz me if he can.

But he can't, 'cuz I really don't rattle that way ;-)

I'm not gonna worry about it.
Shortly I will be back in the flow
and this build will be back in line.
And I will be posting more pictures
related to this build.

Today I got my radio (GT3-C) in the mail
and was able to test out the BRXL I purchased recently.

Everything is working as it should running on 3s.
Even drove the chassis around in a circle...
Even tho' I drug the belly skid along the way. Lol

So obtaining the necessary e components is done
and I'm happy with the outcome 8)

Now it's time to finish welding up the frame
mount the shocks and get it rolling "thumbsup"

^ I have been busy fabricating some additions to the frame...
so that is why it's not welded together yet.

stay tuned... things will start moving shortly,
in the right direction, once again.

------------------

Unfortunately I seemed to have purchased my Everest16
from the worst ebay seller ever

And that has now become a hassle :x

Already filed complaint with ebay...
but now I gotta wait for the sellers response
and opportunity for correction...
before I can request my refund and purchase elsewhere.

^ so that's a slight setback for me. grrr

~ was really looking forward to it's arrival ~

phase II frame build... (welded up, but lots more detail work to do)

Also purchased some highly detailed 1/6 scale fuel cans...
and they can be seen just to the right of the body.
More detail on those... later.

Looking really good. "thumbsup""thumbsup" Are the back and front risers for the shocks or are you making hoops?

Details on the Fuel Cans please.

* My second build bodies look so lonely in the background and waiting to be packaged."thumbsup"
