Just picked mine up. It's on the charger right now. Man, I can't wait 18 hours to play with this thing!

Scottsdale / Phoenix Walmart...

The Walmart in Scottsdale near the 101 and Raintree exit just stocked there shelf full of them. I was there a few days ago and they didn't have any 1:6 scale jeeps. So I went in today planning to buy a 1:16 instead... I was pleasently suprised and picked up the 1:6 scale.

Charging it and around 3pm tomorrow it will be ready to test in the backyard :)

The rear not moving is the belt. If you notice the breather slats in the axle housing, this is a good place for dust to get in. solution is to just open up the axle spray it with some dust off, clean the belt with some 409, and your back in action.

This is my first R/C and I fricken love the thing. I'll have Video and pics soon.

Way to many hours of the dang dremel on this thing...........

is there any difference between the two crawlers? or is it just the body that is different..... because the way that some people talk about the scorpion...you would think that it is better in someway

The Scorpion supposedly has better approach and departure angles. I have only seen the Jeep so I can't say for sure but the pictures sure look like it.

Yea from the looks of it it is just a body change....i cant see the manufacturer making a change in the design for a different body... sounds kinda dumb.

With the 1:18 rigs the Scorpion does have better approach and departure angles.

There's a topic in the 1:18 forum called "Scorpion Vs. Jeep" or something like that. I posted the info in there.

Our local Jeep club is hosting a 4x4 event next month and wanted to put some RC trucks out for the kids to run on a course. We talked about getting some cheap ones, but the charging times verses run times are of course horrible. I took my 1/6 scale with me. Everyone had a blast with it and our Pres who also competes in WEROCK and NUROCK rockcrawling went right from the meeting and bought one. He called me as soon as he got home with it to see what website I was talking about, this one. He is so stoked about this thing. He's on Pirate4x4 as Dwest.

Turns out the battery is the same as the ones he uses in the home alarm systems he installs. He took the one out of his own home alarm to put in and try to get it running last night. So, on the plus side, he can order these batteries by the case so we can have several charged up for the kids course at the event.

So, within 5 min of running one, he had one of his own.

after sitting here for like an hour reading this thread i couldnt take it anymore, i went and did it, i went to walmart today and bought 1/6 jeep crawler for my son for his birthday next month, i have clod crawlers, but this thing looks very capible, the radio looks kinda cheesy though. i cant wait to give it to him and see it run, i will post some pics after i give it to him and we paint it up and stuff. i have a set of savage shocks for it already i saw in walmart in the automotive section they also sell chameleion spray paint, my walmart even has house of colors spray paint. ive never noticed it before , its like 10 bucks for a small can.

before you give it to him, take the batt out and do the 18 hour charge, he will thank you on this B-day, and DON'T FORGET THE 9V! ;-)

Just resist the urge to take it out back when the batt is charged

I already mentioned it to the wife about charging mine before she gives it to me on my bday.. I know my kids get bummed when the grandparents forget the batteries for their gifts..

Well I got it for my bday all charged and ready to go.. Man it's awesome for a Wally World truck!!!
I'm glad I didnt paint the body or the wheels..The body gets pretty beat up using it as a pivot point on the rocks. My friend has one and we did some wheeling together.. We looked pretty funny guiding each other through the harder sections, and stacking rocks to help get over stuff.. Just like full scale froding..

I suppose I could find this info on Walmart's website, but I'm feelin' lazy this morning. Is throttle and steering proportional?

I went to the local construction sight today and played on the muddy dirt piles. It was a good day, and i dident Even break this time!

I got my 1:6 today  The battery is charging right now but so far i think i've lost about 50 HP because i took off the rail guards, axle skids, and all those HP gaining stickers! Not to mention i didn't add the 25HP boosting stinger bumper... :? I'm new to the RC world, but i really want to get into it and the nylints look to be a great starting point!

I hear ya. I have to wait for the wife to buy mine (I am not allowed). I am selling my 1:1 Toyota Cruiser to get into RC so I can play with these lil trucks with the boys and not spend so dang much on my 1:1.
