1/6 scale before the Axial SCX6 came on scene.

1/6 scale Nylint TJ Jeep Body + 1/10 scale customized Wraith drive train / Axles / Titanium Links.

What's amazing is that none of these doll figures, nor the trailer's interior items are secured by any means. They're just sitting in their seats or it's inside the trailer. No seat belts or anything. Except Joe has his Kung Foo grip on the steering wheel and the dog is magnetized down at its paws. Amazingly they stayed in place through-out all of their wild rides off road !

^ @ 8:26 let's see your trailer remain on its wheels after this torture ! ? <-- unedited video
I attribute my success to the 360 rotating tongue (pintle) on the trailer just like the real WWII MBT / later M100 / M416 trailers.

Yes I had and rebuilt an M100 trailer and wheeled it off road behind my 1:1 Toyota Tacoma.
Proof of that --> https://youtu.be/0YXqv08F04A and https://youtu.be/-PkPNmaq1r8 and https://youtu.be/pibS4xWF19M and https://youtu.be/c6BjCnI511I and took it to and wheeled in Moab Utah as well, but don't think I had the trailer with me this time around.

Re: 1/5 scale before the SCX6 existed

I think your build was part of the inspiration for my build
who you addressing on that ? Me ?
If it was me that'd be a first. LoL
But regardless much kudos for getting it done !
How do you like it ? What chassis did you base it on ?
I'm just a curious numbskull 8)

Ya it looks great in your videos I had already started the gathering of the parts but your videos are what kicked it in to high gear

For the chassis I used 2 sets of scx10 frame rails and welded them together I wanted it to be axialfest legal

I have a 3 gear up front with a holms hobbies 1800kv outrunner going in to a wraith 2 speed trans then to ryft axles I had ar60s on it at first but I had to use wheel spacers to get the wheels were I wanted them the ryft axles were a perfect width for what I wanted and just to add a twist it's on leaf springs front and rear the steering and drivers head also turn with the wheels and to hide the outrunner whine it has a engine sound system

Thanks for saying, glad I could motivate you into high gear
But I really want to talk to you about your Wraith 2 speed transmission.
Who makes it and where do I get one ?
I doubt the shift is spaced out as wide as scx6 but I'll bet it fits in better.
Especially 'cause mine has a Wraith drivetrain. Purdy sure I want it in mine 8)
Though it's fast enough for a crawler, when I series wire up those dual 3s Lipo's !
What batteries are you pushing through that 2 speed ? How's that been holding up for you ?
I'd make the steering wheel and Joes head turn but I really don't have the nerve to hack Joe up.

I think I'll sport 4s Lipo batteries in my SCX6...
wire them duals parallel until...
I either kill the rtr ESC or simply pony up to that MambaX-8 for some series wiring fun 8)

I'm running 1 3s 6000mah pack it lasts long enuff to run a trail or 2

The 2 speed is just a cheap Chinese unit the one in this truck is the worst one I have gotten yet the machining was way off in some spots but I was able to fix it and it works just not great

The only problem I've had with the other Chinese 2 speed transmissions is the output shaft likes to snap the SSD replacement shaft fits and I've never broke one so it's a good fix but I'm not seeing a lot of those around anymore so I wonder if there were discontinued or something

Ether way they look easy enuff to make out of a old Allen wrench so not a big deal but still something to think about

The 2 speed doesn't add a lot of speed because of the gear reduction from the extra trans but the gearing gives it mad torque and a decent start up for the outrunner and still has just enuff punch to catch a little air off the right jump lol

They do make 2 speed kits for the wraith trans but they cost as much as a complete unit

There on ebay all day long for around $60

They also have one with counter rotating shafts and or dig so you could go crazy if ya really want to lol

Try searching for ether wraith 2 speed or ax2 transmission the ax2 was the rc3wd version that has been cloned to the moon and back
Then someone figured they could put a dig unit on it then thought we'll just to F with people the added a reverse rotation box on the front of it
So pretty much every thing on one unit lol

No reverse rotation and way to much money but

^ ouch ($$$) ! I'm not even gonna use that dig unit thingy.
Besides I'd probably need another servo and a radio that has more then 3 channels ?
And I've no idea as to what this "reverse rotation box" thingy is/does ?
Not sure I would use all those options that trans includes ?
I simply wanted metal gearing (the internals) and a 2 speed transmission.
I need to first spend another $ 3 K on this SCX6 before I spend it on my older stuff ;-)

All the aluminum transmissions have metal gears I have seen them with 48p gears inside and 32p gears inside but they don't usually say in the listing so it's hard to say what has what inside of it

The 2 peed usually cost around $50-60

The problem with 2 speed is there's a lot of slop in the transmission I've gotten used to it but it really bothers some people

Your sure the slop is from the gear mesh inside the trans ?
Or could be from worn driveline components ?
I still need my question answered ?
What is this "reverse rotation box" thing ?
Is that part of this dig unit ?

Reverse rotation just means there extra junk to make one output turn the opposite way they say it helps with torque twist
The dig unit just bolts on too like the old vanquish hurtz dig
The slop comes from the shifting mechanism itself inorder to make the shift half way smooth and not eat servos there's a lot of space for the
Ears on the shift cog to drop into I have 3 different styles of 3 speed axial, traxxasss, and the trasfercase style unit they all have the slop

I agree hence I need that... Not that dig stuff.
Try this oneI have one of these models it feels smooth to me I haven't run it yet cause I'm still building on it but they feel good

I did get 1 bad one but was able to make it work

My other 5 or 6 of these I have work fine out of the box
And I only have 1 of this actual model and I haven't run it yet but it feels smooth and shifts good

The output shaft is the week point SSD did make a replacement shaft and it's great but I haven't been able to find them laitly

I figure worse comes to worse a cut down Allen wrench a drill and a file I can make 1
