$1.50/gal Gas

isnt it great ;-)
and those governtment subsidies from taxes towards healthcare yoy are refering to.
who do you think is paying those? thats right, Me. I am....

that is why I am paying 52% income tax..

so it does not matter how you look at it.. you have cheap gass in the USA...

Your country and its residents are the ones who made the tax structure the way it is, remember that. The US is buying crude on a global level just like Holland is able to do.

Yep, absolutely correct, except for the whole economies of scale thing, but basically right. So we know you have bugger all taxes addded, compared to other countries, yet there are still people complaining that you have expensive fuel, point is your fuel isn't expensive! Not at all!

Governments tax
Companies profit

Its the same everywhere, but at the end of the day the average Joe America fills his car up for less $/gallon than most ever where else ( but not "whatever" , he's special):lmao:

Look at all you guys whining like women at a tea party.

The US pays less because one key factor. We use more than you, meaning more volume which in any economic structure means lower costs. No different than buying anything in bulk, the more you buy the better the discount.

Damned straight, just paid $1.64/litre for premium :x:x:x quit ya bleat'in :flipoff:

Yep, what we have been saying all along, So stop ya damn bitching about having expensive fuel please, you see we all know ( you, me, everyone) it's just simply not.

Here is a bit of interesting info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_tax

Read the section on the Netherlands....then read the section on the US.

The big difference between the two? It all comes down to the government. Your government decides to tax more...almost a 70% increase.....and, if you'll read the last sentence of that section, it helps shed light on the subject of what that tax is used for. "thumbsup"

sorry mate, I meant that as the collective "you" , wasn't aimed at you personally, I should have worded it better.

(see "whatever" when you get it wrong, it's easy to make it right, just takes the balls to admit it in the first place:flipoff:)

Well "whatever" theres an authoritative source if ever I've seen one, wikipedia, no way there'd be misinformation, or incorrect information there. I'll bet you know how to google as well,

let me guess, Brothers Grimm for financial advice?

IMO the cost of oil in america should be much lower than it currently is.
There is no reason not to complain about it.
We happen to have plenty of resources available, that the goverment simply refuses to let us tap into.
Thats frustrating,we have it,and taking advantage of it would help our economy by employing those workeres, yet our leaders wont take charge.

Now oil may be high in aus aswell, but I would bet that milk is high in australia aswell.

I know in Hawiia nearly everything is imported, meet, produce, ect.
They dont really produce anything themselfs, and cant given thier llandscape,so they have to pay more to import it.

Maybe aus, doesnt have oil ready to tap into of its own,but we do,and that means we are paying more for no good reason, and thats frustrating.

well, it is all over news here in Europe.
In Spain the government lowered all the maximum speed limits by 10 km/h.

they hope to stimulate the economy that way, because when people are driving slower they burn less fuel and will hold a little bit more money in their pockets to spend somewhere else .

quote :

MADRID — Spain will lower highway speed limits, cut train ticket prices and use more biofuel under an emergency energy-saving initiative because of soaring oil prices brought on by unrest in Libya, an official said Friday.
The Libyan rebellion has sharply reduced exports from the oil-rich nation, and about 13 percent of the oil Spain consumes comes from Libya.
Deputy Prime Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said Spain's energy supply is not in danger, despite shutdowns by oil companies operating in Libya, but the national energy bill will rise significantly because of the sharply higher petroleum prices.
He said a euro10/per barrel ($1.37 per barrel) increase in oil prices will cost Spain an extra euro500 million ($690 million) per month.
"This is what happens when we depend so much on oil. It is normal that the price goes up when there are problems," said 28 year-old student Pablo Regadera.
Spain's energy saving measures will be approved formally next week and take effect on a temporary basis March 7.
The maximum speed limit on Spanish highways is 120 kilometers per hour (75 mph) and this will come down to 110 kph (68 mph). The government will rush to print new signs to alert people of the change.
"We are going to go a bit slower and in exchange for that we are going to consume less gasoline and therefore pay less money," Perez Rubalcaba said. For instance, he said, a car running on gasoline will use 15 percent less fuel at the new, lower speed limit

Is our gas expensive on the global scale? No, its pretty damn reasonable.

Is our gas expensive on the national scale? Yes, because we're used to paying less.

There. Now go find something else to do. :flipoff:
