But since 2mtech is getting all in a tizzy over surprises in everyone's threads, I will reveal what I ordered for my 39th birthday last night...

So there it is! Finally getting a 313 wheelbase 8 inch wide body so the truck will be much more capable and (1.9) tires will be inside the fenders.
It comes with the bed topper so that's a plus.
Lots of rewoeking though. I need to fix the tailights, mirrors, see what I can do about the grill being too flat and boxy, remove the rear shock box on the bed floor, extend the bed (and topper) to longbed...

I went to the home page after I ordered...
He now makes a BUNCH of f body options including a supercab longbed. Wish I could have opted for a single cab longed (camper special?) With topper.
But like I said, I have work to do on this but it's a great base.
One huge thing I plan to do is make molds of the original pieces before assembly and pour resin recasts. That way I can mess with it and not worry about destroying a 3D printed body well into.the triple digits. And hopefully also keep me from worrying about PLA body melting on a hot California summer day.
So... Off I go to learn how to recast stuff in resin using silicone molds!

To really answer the questions:
Not my body it's a pic from the jk3d website where I bought it.

Prints in 5-10 days and ships from South Korea so... 2 weeks maybe? Arrives in pieces so it will be easier to recast.
As for chassis... I might run it on the ascender for abit but uh... Well I gotta keep something up my sleeve

I believe mgputer drove a 1:1 years back. It’s funny how Ford basically flipped the current grill of the day upside down to design that one.
The body you have printed is really nicely designed. Sure the grill may be a bit flat, but the body in the video has good looking proportions. Nice find.

Yeah I forgot who had the 76. Chris I remember your highboy stories, those are AWESOME and I think my dad used to tell me he wished he had a highboy, or a 250 at least.
The 79 supercab on the same site looks REALLY cool. If I had the dough I would have bought both and used the supercab bed on the regular cab, or maybe even build up both as I have been kicking around the idea of getting a 75 supercab (because ca smog exempt) so my whole family will fit and it would be my very own "dad rig" as my son and I have been calling my tinytire rc. Would be nice to have a work truck that could easily haul a camper and not worry about scratching it... Maybe someday.
Anyway... I will just cast the parts and make a bed extension myself. Then cast that again when its done? I know I know. A copy of a copy... Ive seen multiplicity with Michael keaton. Hilarious go see it if you haven't. Sorry... Yeah so I need to learn how to cast. Been curious as lots of action figure customizers use it to make copies of parts they make. That's how I will practice. Got tons of spare figures.

I owned a 76 highboy 4x4 for ten years. Great truck. It would be fun to have a replica, but this level of scaling is off my charts - I just want to run crawlers.

The Highboys of that era are one of if not the sexiest pickups of all time.
Sanity check: is the lure of highboy, other than obviously being... Higher... Because of the front leaf suspension vs. the std f series being radius arm?

They were before my time, but I remember staring at them as a youngster. My uncle was a farmer and he had a pretty killer pickup collection. While most of them were white, he clearly liked Ford with a couple Dodge sprinkled in. The highboy was always my favourite. It just looks so good in a dark blue.
The highboys were F250’s
This gets into the suspension that, I suppose, defined them.

I'm pretty sure you are correct about the high boys. My dads was a 77 and had leaf front. We had a 74 before that and it was radius arm standard.
But the high boys were 3/4 ton not 150s.

So yeah now I think I want to try NOT to make it a highboy. Just wouldnt be faithful to my pops truck. And would be inaccurate anyway since highboys stopped in 77.5.

I think that you are correct that the f250 was leaf sprung in the front.
