Delaware chatter

We would be happy to have you join in, just be advised that we are not competition minded. Others have come out to play and were not impressed that we were not running as if in competition. We are just out to enjoy our chosen hobby and for the most part our runs have a follow-the-leader style. Pretty much a see if you can make it up/over/through/down what one of the others did with plenty of trash talking thrown in. For now we crawl at 3 different location, keep an eye on the site to see where the next spot is. It is usually in the morning and during the week.

Speaking of which, anyone up for a round of Crawlow-the-leader next week, say Thur or Fri, if the rocks are clear of snow?

Wow I haven't been on in a while. Where is everyone crawling at. I saw the pics on page 10, where is that. I guess I need to get my comp crawler back together for some good times.

Thanks, I don't really compete either, I have a family and they take presidence. I don't get to crawl often, but woodley park is my fav. Spot. I started to do some clean up there but never got any real help. Sometimes I crawl at iron hill in newark. Right now my fav crawler needs a pinion gear installed, but I just haven't taken the time to do it. My winter hobbies have taken over for now. Hope to crawl with some of you soon.

I'm probably good for Thursday. Wednesday I have check-ups for 2 kids. I NEED some stress relief!!!

Flying or driving....just SOMETHING before I start battering the dogs/kids/Denise. I'm wrapped too tight right now. Need to blow off some steam.

Sorry....background story for rest....Barry knows already (had to vent!!!)

I just bought my son a trumpet yesterday. He's been using a rental that I'm honestly not pleased with. B&B Music wants $800 for the rental (used), that's honestly a piece of chinese crap. I found them on line for brand new for $350. I was (note "was") not paying $800 for a $350 trumpet that I thought was crap, so I found my son a nice Getzen (quality) trumpet. I was (again, note "was") planning on returning the rental next week after his new one arrives. I get home yesterday (after I have ordered his new trumpet) and his rental trumpet has been crushed on 2 sides of the bell (the end where sound comes out) and no one knows a damn thing about how or what happened. I've questioned the heck out of my son and he swears that he has no idea how it got dented. Just came home, picked it up to do his practice and it was messed up. So....I may be stuck paying $800 for a piece of shit trumpet that's only worth $350 brand new. Needless to say....I'm pissed beyond belief!!! Accidents happen, I understand that. But someone knows something. I almost want to kick everyones ass, then I'll get the right one, but that's frustration talking.

So....I'm stressed!

Ground hog day is just around the corner!

Oh....And we all know how that will go!!! Little bastard will predict more winter weather. Damn groundhog.

Here you go....a couple of recipes:

Trailer Park Groundhog

Take gun (.22 cal is good). Load with bullets and accurately fire at head [we're assuming the groundhog's head, not your own].
Skin groundhog and gut him. Clean out carcass with waterhose.
Cut critter into quarters.
Make up a big batch of your favorite marinade (make sure it has oil and vinegar to help tenderize the groundhog).
Throw marinade and critter pieces into plastic trash bag and marinade around 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
Take out marinated critter pieces and throw on the grill on low heat. Cook until rare to medium rare. Do not overcook, critter will dry out.
And no one likes their critter dry.
Country-Style Groundhog

  • 1 groundhog
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
Clean and skin as soon as possible. Remove all sent [sic] glands. Cut off head, feet and tail. Cure in cool place by suspending from hook approximately 4 days.
When ready to cook, lard according to recipe.
Dress groundhog as you would a rabbit, removing the small sacs in the back and under the forearm. Soak groundhog overnight in salted water to remove wild flavor.
Combine flour, salt and pepper; rub into groundhog pieces. Brown groundhog in hot oil in skillet; sprinkle with sugar. Reduce heat and add 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes or until tender. Remove cover and cook for 10 minutes longer.
