I feel sorry for you guys that have that kind of heat.

But then I remember the posts you all make during the winter months, talking about the nice crawling weather you are having, and I don't feel so bad :flipoff:

Heat index today here in Augusta was 105! Its not the heat that kills us its the humidity! I tried to ride the motorcycle to work today and got half way here and turned around and went home and hopped in the Yota! I was about to pass out with the helmet on! This is the start to one of the worst summers I've seen here! Rain everyday, the heat is unreal and its so humid its stupid!!!!!

az>humidity

I've lived in the desert all my life, but the sweatiest, more miserable experience of my life was disney world (FL) in June.

They were saying 108 heat index here today. I was walking dogs for 3.5 hrs this afternoon, I'd guess it was close....ugh.

8) On vacation in Hilton Head SC today, temp in the upper 90's, heat index up to 110 on local news, NO WIND. I'm sure when I return home my yard will be so dried out it will pose a potential fire hazzard and have one of those Smokey The Bear no smoking signs posted in the yard. Beach is great when you can dip into the ocean every few, only problem is making it out to the beach with 2 kids, wife, mother inlaw and everything that goes with them (chairs, cooler, beach/water toys, umbrellas towels, etc. etc.) without passing out, lol.

Felt that wonderful relief of having finished (and loosing a few pounds in the process, all water, lol) and ready to hit the water to cool off with them when, "Oops I forgot the whatever" said the wife. After returning from my heatstroke inducing walk, "Hey daddy, I forgot my boogie board". Back again, "Son we could use some more something or anothers". THEN, I got to enjoy the ocean and teach my son how to body board for a little while, lol (nothing like being half in the water cooling and the other half sticking out sweating).

Then it came, "It's too hot even on the beach to stay any longer and baby girl needs a nap and, and, and.." lol, time to repack and do it all over again less than two hours. A dads work is never done, lol. But watching my son catch some small waves and the look on his face when he looked back at me after each one made it all worth it and would have done it all again the same day.

LUCKLY I didn't have to and we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool which had a temp of 88-89 and felt like ice water in the heat, :flipoff: .

Funny thing was all the comments they kept making about how sunburned I looked and must not have applied my sunscreen well enough. After about 10 minutes in the pool they where like, "Oh, you must have just been hot and overheated because you look normal now". NO, REALLY, lol. Well I have no sunburn now but they all have a little, wonder why, lol.

It's funny you guys drive a few hours down the same coast to vacation!:ror: I used to spend every summer in Hilton Head. The X's parents owned a condo there. We could stay as long as we wanted for free. All we had to pay was the cleaning fee of $100 and food"thumbsup" Its only a 2 hour drive from me here.

But yea, this heat index is unreal this year! The air at my tattoo shop hasn't shut off in a week!:ror:

Just a little taste of what it's like over here, and that's after the temperature has dropped for the week. It's going on July, and its only going to get worse. Iraq really is hot.
