XR wide SCX10.2 options

Curious if there are options for the 10.2 axle wide XR mod other than beef tubes and vanquish curries? both of which seem to be out of stock everywhere. Thanks in advance.

The XR mod was really about getting more steering angle (and width I guess), unless I understand incorrectly. At least more steering angle is the reason I did the XR Narrow mod on my SCX10. For the 10.2, all ya gotta do is buy the Universals (front axle with u-joints) and put them in, if your 10.2 came with dog bone axles. I did that on my 10.2 and it’s got nearly as good steering as my 10 axles do with the XR Narrow mod.

What Im looking to do is have the 10.2 center section for the high pinion and ground clearance, and the XR width that is wider than stock but not AR60 wide.

You could probably take the SSD pro44 centre section, and see if one of the vendors here that make custom axles will help you out with XR mod tubes. Personally I like the idea of a pro44 in wraith widths.

beef tubes makes a set of both XR wide and narrow housings with preinstalled brass tubes but everyone is out of stock.

The biggest downside of the XR width Beef Tubes for me is the exposed brass ends killing the scale look. Second is the necessary use of lockouts.

There was hope that SSD was going to produce different width tubes for the Pro44 and Diamond Pro axles; but, alas... that hope now seems dim. I have had a project on hold simply waiting for the chance that SSD would do XR width. I would even finally pay money for Rock Jocks if they were 44based xr width. It appears that I will have to use wider hubs again which isn't as idea functionally; but, it beats the exposed brass ends, lockouts and joints for me.

the exposed brass and non scale look is the downfall of those for sure.
I guess I will be saving up to get the currie rock jocks.
