Wraith Beginners Guide

I got my first used wraith today and doing a complete tear down, rebuild along with upgrading alot of things along the way.

how do i get the set screws out where the lower links meet the lower skid plate/tranny/mtr assembly? is that a custom tool you need to make to fit into those little needle holes? A pic for reference.....the online instruction manual makes them look threaded like the drive shaft pins.....

I believe they are just screws. Maybe you do have a tip small enough

Great thread and thanks again Harley. I first posted back on page 30 with a question and got immediate reply - awesome.

I recently pulled the trigger and got the PS RTR. Selling off the Tx/Rx and beadlocks and tires (I have all that stuff already). Keeping ESC, motor, and servo.

As far as the servo, I know it's weak and short-lived. I have read that the output spline shaft bushings are really weak. I observed this. Before I put too many miles on the servo, I decided to try to help it out. I had a dead Futaba s9351 in my box and ripped it open. Took the spline shaft bearings off it and they are a direct fit to the Axial servo. Replaced the stock white bushings with the bearings from the 9351. Perfect fit. No slop no play. Running servo at 6v Turnigy 4$ BEC:mrgreen:. We will see how she holds up.

Thanks for all the great info8)

I'm not sure why you would want to run that combo. I would not suggest the 1 piece gear with the SCX housing. The load capabilites of that single larger OD bearing are not as high as the normal configuration.

If you want to run an SCX housing you need to run an extended rear output like available from SuperShafty or Crawler Innovations. Or you can try to run a longer driveshaft and clearance the skid plate, but I DO NOT recommend that.

I'm having some trouble putting together RC4WD Mickey Thompson Sidebiter with a set of pitbulls. Is there a trick to get the bead to stay while screwing it down.
