While testing Elite against others we found big C Rating trickery

Looks like a couple weeks unfortunately:x

Since this is a new factory, we are having to develop some trust with them to keep stock for us. They literally have to make the cells when we order. So I guess that is a good and bad. Good is, they're the most fresh cells anyone on the market has. The bad is that you have to wait for them. Catch 22 really. Probably the beginning of NOV is when we should see them.

They are worth the wait....Guess I will grab a 1300 untill the 1000 are back in
stock...Thanks for the info.

These Things are AWESOME!!!!
they are about the size of a slightly puffed TP 1320 2S and have more punch than any other lipo i have EVER used:shock:

Chris has earned my buisness forever"thumbsup"

does anyone mind if i post some comparison pics??

Made 2 of these. Not for crawlers, but still cool. They were a b!tch to make tho

This should be good. "thumbsup"

I was more impressed with my 35C Hyperion than any other battery I've ever tried.

here are a few pics to show how small these 3S 1000's really are"thumbsup"
the first is a comparison to a slightly puffed TP 2S 1320
the second is a Gforce 1300 3S which is about the same size as all of the other lipo's i've been using until now:mrgreen: Thanks again Chris!

So below are the test results. This is what Mike said in the Email to me. When he says HP, that is in reference to the Hyperion pack. Basically we conclude that the Hyperion is good, but not a true 45C. It's a 35C, MAYBE a 40C. And for the .05 volt gain, I personally don't think it's worth the money. This pack at our cost, was more than what we sell the Elite 1000mah 35C for. And you would never see the difference in performance.

So what does this show us?

the HP is a lower resistant cell vs the Elite and others we have tested. This is a good thing.

the diferences at the median voltages at 20amps (500mah line) is seperated by .025 to .05 (that is 2.5mv and 5mv). In the HP favor.

at 35amps (the max rating for the Elite) the HP is a clear 5mv ahead.

at 45c (50amps) for the HP it does not perform too well. Based on the 45c test this cell is NOT a 45C. Not if you count 50% capacity @ below 3.4v average acceptable.

Now the Elite was not tested at 45c because it is NOT claimed to be a 45c cell.

all in all the HP is a very very good cell. But keep in mind it is a 1100mah not 1000mah. That is a 10% difference. The voltage difference is not 10% is is more like less than 1%. We would expect the larger capacity cell to have higher voltage so this was expected.

It is my opinion, that the Elite 1000, for its capacity, is a very comparable cell to the HP. But the HP will put out more power on average although less than 1% difference.

It does also appear that the resistance in the HP is lower. We are basing that on the higher starting voltages before it settles into the normal part of the curve (After 200mah). The large starting voltages, although impressive, are very short lived and are not sustained. Also, again, we can't forget about the capacity differences here. The 100mah difference can make a voltage difference as well.

You can draw your own conclusions as well from our tests.

Thanks,

mike

Testing the HP packs and saying they edged your packs out ( just barely and at probably twice the cost retail) says a lot about your company. Expect an order from me shortly. I need a couple of 4s packs for my super. On a side note, do you make, and would a mamba max handle 5s lipo? An 850 5s would look good on my bully. I just do not want to buy new esc's to do it.

I greatly appreciate info like this. Even though it will probably never happen, it would be interesting to have a law requirirng companies be truthful in thier advertizing but it seems like the car audio industry. You have brands like kicker that claim way more watts than they really do and get away with it. Seems like it should fall under false advertizing.

Does the mAh rating of a lipo act the same as nimh and nicad batteries? For example, If I have a standard 6 cell 3000 mAh battery and I drive for 1 hour, do I need a 3000 mAh lipo to get the same drive time? This is one of the things that has stumped me because so many lipo's have a mAh of less than 2,000 mAh.

Like I said before, thanks for the inflo. Truth wins my buisness way faster than advertizing.

I can make whatever you need. But the Mamba Max wont handle 5S

And good it was.

Are you fellas testing these cells on their first cycle? Or after a few cycles maybe?

We put a few cycles on em. But it really doesn't seem to make a difference these days on the results.

Mah is your gas tank. Although changing conditions can effect runtime, Mah is Mah. So 3000mah on a Nimh and Lipo should always get the same runtime.

Very Nice...$18 Elite!! Customer for life....Its atleast good to know that HP get's
the closest to actually matching there C's rating, besides your Elite packs....

I used my brand P pack....It was what I was use to...
Then I tossed in my 1000 Elite....Amazing how much faster the punch was...
Then I tossed my 1100 HP pack....And the power was similar...
I should have grabbed a few more 1000 Elite's befor they sold out

Brand P is a pure Joke....

the 3S 1000's are Very stout!! my wife shattered her V2's within about 10mins today:cry: The axles and the lipo's were brand new:mrgreen:
the left front tire got traction and she nailed the throttle! we all know what comes next:evil:
