Which light bar is the brightest?

Looks like the Vanquish has the highest lumen rating so that one in theory should be brighter. Could not find anything on the RC4WD lights for output

The only downfall I can see with the VP one is it "requires" 11.1v to run it. Gearhead makes top notch stuff and you could get away with a smaller battery type to light it as well.

hmm ok well Ive been looking at the Vanquish one(i run 3s 11.1 lipos on my rig) so dont think there would be a issue.

also posted this thread to help others in the future if they want to know the same thing. wish someone had all 3 and could take pics with the same camera of each light output

The Led bars you refer to are actually available in rolls of 16.4' (5 meters) for $26 for an entire waterproof roll and they come in every color, even RGB. They run off 12v (3s). They are available on ebay or amazon.com

Amazon.com: 16.4FT SMD 5050 Waterproof 300LEDs RGB Flexible LED Strip Light Lamp Kit + 44Key IR Remote Controller: Everything Else

I've lit my entire home with them. They are very effecient. IMO the light bares an absolute ripoff. All you are paying for is about $2 of LED strip, and a delrin case easily made from parts at your LHS.

You can pickup a luxeon 3 watt LEDs that will make those lightbares seem like childplay, we're talking up top 1000 lumens. Blinding.

Some links to check out as alternatives.

Some of these Luxeon and Cree LEDs are brighter than 1:1 car headlights.

I think the main point is that they're all bright enough to function well in lighting your way.
No need to know which is brightest.

I have 2 rolls of similar strips like this at home. Not the same stuff as the Mad Dog or VP stuff. To get strips that were any where near as bright I had to spend a lot more.

I have ran the MadDog lights for the last year and just recently switched to the VP. The two are vary comparable in output, and both are MUCH brighter than the RC4WD and the Gearhead bars.

Where do you find the 3 watts? All i see is 1's. i want to make a super uber bright light bar

I have the VP light bar... Haven't run it yet.

Do most of you guys run it off the battery you have powering everything else or do you have a separate battery for the lights? I'm not sure I have room for 2 batteries.

Look up crawlerdad leds on facebook.

106 lumens of output at 12v, half the price of the competition. And coming out with a 210+ lumen 4" bar soon;-)

I agree I have his and they are freakin amazing. And they are bright enough that I don't want to look at them for very long. :)
