What the newest cheap servo hotness?

Yes.... IF you really need it.
My Wraith turned out to be a heavy rig, with extreme grip, I ate 4 different $100.00 servos, all in the mainstream , and all were replaced under warranty. I stopped the nonsense with a Savox 2290.
It lists for $160. I found a steal and picked it up for $120.
Logic said, only $30 more, it has not failed yet, I can see and feel the difference.

I can’t say for a lighter rig, that much is needed, But my Yeti is happy with my Hitec , it’s also 3 lb lighter.

That makes sense. So it would be overkill on a CC-01 with 1.55 tires? ;-)

If the stock is good (which I haven’t checked BangGoods site for their listed stock numbers) these 30kg W/P JX’s will surely overtake the PowerHD 23kg wp for some cheap servo hotness. Need something to improvise a 2075 in the TRX kit thats in the mail and not sure I need hundred dollar steering at the moment. The traxxas servo will go to good use as the ol’ Rustler needs steering and a 2075 will be plenty.

Same boat here. I'm looking for an improvement for the trx4.

The only remaining question is how robust the top half of these servos are. The HH servo is showing best intentions & a good name don't always result in a ringer. My thought is to avoid running the cheap servos at max voltage when they'll really be stressed. I can imagine the 14v servos lasting quite a while at 3S and nearly forever at 2S while stilling having serious power/speed.

I've seen a lot of people upgrade from weak stock Traxxas servos to JX and they always seem happy.

I’m running at 7v not 8.4
Seemed decent, not close to my PM or Holmes, but price isn’t close either . New truck is lighter, so hopefully it will last.

As I had mentioned up thread, I ordered a couple of these from AliExpress and they finally arrived - took a month. But gee, for $12.99 shipped...and if you're not in a hurry...such a deal.

I have not installed one yet, but took one out and connected it to my HW1080 at 7.4v - works fine. It's rated for up to 6.8v so I hope running 7.4 doesn't burn it out too quick. LOL I can set the built in BEC back to 6v, but it's really snappy at the higher volts. I'll play with it some more when I actually employ one in a rig.

Comes with a nice locking alloy arm as well. Claims to be waterproof. 298oz/in at .14 seconds. Pretty good spec for $13. "thumbsup"

^^^ That's what has been in my Ascender for a few months now, I'm running it on the lower-power setting from the HW 1080. Lovin' the little cheap bastard...

Just ordered a JX 6221 20kg digital "coreless" from Banggood since the non-coreless were out of stock; should be better than the original. Surprisingly it was the same price: $12.

Just as I’m looking for a new servo as I smoked the silly BlueBird on the weekend on some rocks. Threw in a backup JX PS5521MG for now.
Ordered one to see how it does.
Cheers!

This is why I don't buy cheap servos any more...

You can SEE the comm and the fingers that are suppose to be brushes!

What servo is that you say?

Something seems off...

Did it break on you or were you waterproofing it?

I'd see if you can get your money back, most definitely...

I'll mention that Trackstar stuff is often OK for budget onroad builds, I don't know if I'd use anything they make for offroad, although they have some incredibly cheap shocks.

They don't look TOO awful!

I was taking it apart. Its what I do with everything I get to avoid crap like this.

That's not a brushless servo BTW...
