What motor do I want?

Will the Hobbywing QuicRun Waterproof 1080 ESC work well with the Trailmaster Sport 550?

I have that ESC and I think its great. I have submarined it and had no problems, definitely water proof. It should work with that motor because its a brushed motor. This ESC is only for Brushed Motors.

I didn't look at the link closely but make sure you get one with the program card, makes adjusting your settings easy.

Appreciate the response! I got a kit rig to run alongside my RTR. Going to upgrade the RTR to brushed, the kit to brushless. We'll see how it goes. "thumbsup""thumbsup"

Yeahhh buddy. Can't wait to try it out.

I have seen that the 550 can will not fit the rtr transmission. It will however fit the kit trans

Thats the issue
It hits the battery tray.
I have one and was going to put it in my kit 10.2, but nope wont fit.

Can anyone make a recommendation on a waterproof brushless sensored ESC and motor combo? I intend to run 2S 7.4V 5000mah. I intend only to crawl and run a few trails. High speed is not needed. Just a good combo with good reliability and long run times.

Don't get the 550! Does not fit. I guess I'll be ordering the 540 motor. About a quarter inch too long and hits the battery tray.

Yeah, I'm really not trying to notch into that corner of the battery tray though. That's the corner I have my battery pushed into.

Can't you flip the trans around like the old scx? Would put the motor out the back

Is there really a pressing need for a 550 in the scx2? Apart from potential physical size issues, would it be unnecessarily heavy? How would the 540 27t trailmaster compare?
