hi names nick im alittle new at rc crawling and was wondering what is a 2.2 crawler because im thinking its the size of the frame but im not shure:-P

welcome to the sickness... 2.2 refers to the size of the tires on the crawler there are two classes of competition crawlers 2.2s and supers which can run much bigger wheel/tire combinations...

Hey Nick, I will jump in and tell you before someone gives you a hard time. A 2.2 crawler is referencing the size of Tire.. the 2.2 is the most common size tire that is used. You will find that most will narrow the 2.2 and run that because it puts more pressure on the smaller contact patch of the tire when it meets the rock surface.

That's what I found surprising in my research. In a 1:1 world, a wider contact patch is helpful to gain traction when you air down making the tire more flexible to conform to rocks. Good info to know.
