What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Finally started putting my 3D printed MATV body together....

Finally had a moment to get the headlights and taillights installed on the FJ body. I think i'm sufficiently lit for some night trailing and crawling with this body now.:lmao:

Headlights, fog lamps, light bar, rock lights, taillights - Check!

Looks good! Just started adding lights and ordered a MyTrickRC Dragon controller. So far just doing the scale leds and a 5” lightbar. I am going to order the rock lights too.
What size are the leds in your bumper 3mm or 5mm?

Tracked down a friend who went missing. Then let him drive in the ocean! (And spent far too long trying to get sand and salt out of her)

But...if you had a great time, I'm guessing the "sand & salt" was worth it, eh?

Ok, that is SUPER COOL. Gotta ask...did you print it yourself, or did you buy it (and, if so, from where)?

Bought the pattern, printed it on my printer. Pattern was $20 I think? I can look it up again if you like...

Think I found it - OSHKOSH-MATV, from 3DLabPrint. Unfortunately, don't have a 3D printer...yet. If I knew someone locally (SF Bay Area, South Bay) who had a 3D printer, it wouldn't be a problem. However, the only person I know who had one (one of my techs at church) just recently moved to Dubai.

I've been considering getting one, and was almost ready to buy one, but some other expenses (Axial Capra, RC4WD TF2) got "in the way". Then, someone referred me to the Prusa Mini (which wouldn't work for this anyway...bed too small), which, in turn, let to the MK3S, which I'll need to save up for (probably 4-6 months).

Yep, that's the one. Mine was printed on my MK3S. The main cab was probably the hardest part to print well.

I was all set to the the (just-released) Ender 5 Pro, until someone mentioned the upcoming Prusa Mini. That's what led me to the MK3S, which is what I now want (unless they release the MK4 before I have enough saved. Until then, Shapeways is a "good friend".

Painted up a Comanche body. Mounted the plastic Axial Cherokee grill, which a few people seem to have used already, with a little sanding on the sides its a nice fit.

Tried to do the magnet body mount thing but it didn't turn out, the shoe goo ate the paint off and didnt want to stick to the body...wondering if its because of the rustoleum paint? Anyways had to remove the gunk from the body and sand/paint the area again. Doh.

New front bumper to match the Comanche front end ...RC4WD Tough Armor Winch Bumper with Grille Guard for the Axial SCX-10.

Straightened/bent the front frame rails to raise the bumper up to get rid of the gap between the body....Couldve lowered the body but would have had to trim a bunch of extra plastic off the body and fenders and it wouldn't have looked right with how the rear bumper sits.... The front frame rails now run straight instead of dipping down, like the rear of the frame.

Wired up the lights. Also planning to get a light bar and mount it to the bumper.

Pretty happy with how it turned out, been wanting to run one of these Comanche bodies for a while. Going to cry the first few time I roll it.
