What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Did a lot today!

Added the traxxas light kit, added a 3d printed receiver box extention, combined the diff locks to take up one channel (switches all locked or all unlocked), and reprinted new decals using a more water resistant ink [emoji12]

installed the (incomplete) light kit. I don't like the rock lights as I think they make the rig looks like a lantern..== I don't like the roof light either as I think it is too bright. I installed the head & tail lights only. one thing I don't understand is why it is necessary to connect the module to the receiver.

the lights do not response to the rig's movements at all. the lights need power only. what's the point in connecting them to the receiver? anyway, the final result is... ok.

I picked up a trx4 bronco with the black and red body!

Shhhhhhh don’t tell traxxas that I’m not going to put all traxxas parts on this thing once I start building it.

These came in the mail, tires in a few days. This will be my first mod to the TRX4 Bronco.

If you use the link app, there's now a switch on your "dashboard" display that lets you control the lights. My buddy hooked his Defender up that way. :)

Where did you find the info to make ht his Link app work? I tried just now and the link says “no Traxxas power amplifier detected”

Just finished up a refresh of my Defender.

I had cut the frame rails to mount my 79 F150 body and ascender cage. Decided I wanted a change from that setup.

Picked up a new Trx-4 Sport frame and links for dirt cheap and started the transfer/refresh.

So long wheelbase F-150 to short wheelbase SR5 conversion complete I guess. Threw on a few additional goodies as well.

Chrome mirrors...

Put 20 weight shock oil in all the shocks...

And installed the rock light kit.

I’m still in the “appearance package” phase... lol

Also got my first 3s battery in her and wow...big difference from 2s.

Mounted some Hyrax knockoffs onto metal beadlocks. Went on super quick and was dirt cheap! Approx.$40 canadian for the set - ebay.

On the photo comparing the tires, the left are the knockoffs and the right are original Hyrax.

Can't wait to try these on the trail!

Those tires aren't bad, but I think the Trail Canyons are much better, I soaked mine for a few days in purple power to get the mold release off and soften them up, that made a noticeable difference. Fresh out of the package though they didn't grip the rocks very well. I paid $17 for those tires shipped so I can't complain.

I find that the canyon trail tires often beat out some more expensive tires I've got! Really impressed by them.

Did you soak these knockoffs or the canyon trails? Never heard of purple powder but will check it out.

Simple green actually works better, yes I soaked the Hyrax knockoffs after installing them, they weren't very good straight out of the package so I unmounted them and soaked them about 3 days, flipping them over twice a day. Use about 2 cups of simple green and around a gallon of hot tap water.

Nothing major, but got my Warn winch installed and rebuilt the shocks with 15wt oil and SAMIX brass spring cups.

What bumper is this? My stock bronco bumper is getting beat up and gets hung up a lot.
