After installing an RRP idler gear, diff gear, slipper and MIP's, I came up with a creative way to mount my gear cover so it can be removed easily.

I used two Associated #6929 4-40 x 3/8" cap head screws from my vintage RC10's that use a body clip to hold down the battery strap.

I drilled out the top two gear cover holes as big as I could, then drilled out the body clip holes one size larger to fit bigger clips. Then I ground down the screw heads slightly so the cover would slip over them once the clips are removed. It works good so far. "thumbsup"

Replaced a busted XR axle,

While doing that I found that my Vanquish CMS/ pan hard was broken as well.

I did pretty good! 200 gates, ended with 13 points. If I would have known about deducting points for the bonus items and if my battery hadn't died on an obstacle right before the finish line, I would have finished up with 5 points! This group doesn't deduct points for scale items or... -10 lol. It was a ton of fun and I'll definitely be going to as many as I can.

Been reading a lot about people ripping up the rear of the G6/Deadbolt shell with having no rear bumper. So until I've got a proper metal one I wanted to knock up a simple affair to keep it intact till that happens.

So went through my junk boxes and found a Bruiser parts tree with what turned out to be a suitable part.

Trimmed off the bits not needed.

Drilled a couple of 2mm holes through it into the stock chassis brace and simply popped some self tappers in.

Almost an exact fit, not too strong but it should last a short while.

I took advantage of the ridiculous sunny weather here in SoCal and took the JK for some crawling out at Vasquez Rocks.
