What are you working on??

I've got a new honcho rear cage for The Mistress coming from TCS Crawlers, along with a cooler to mount on the cage's bed.
I also grabbed some old lead wheel weights to melt down as ballast instead of using the second battery pack in the rear.

Still need to paint the plow.

Like the tire and wheel combo. They work really good on my Ford. Starting to get the shop together in its new home. Been picking away at the Dodge. Picked up a scale transfer case. Now im on the hunt for a r3 scale trans. Hate to buy a new one but may have to. Like to get some picks up, but ive been without a computer for the last month now. Hope to solve that soon. Once I get all these parts together , maybe I can start fabricating a role cage!!!

Tonight I made a wooden mold to make ballast weights for the back of The Mistress.
I chiseled a 1.5" x 2.75" x 3/8" rectangle into a board.
I melted about 20oz. of lead wheel weights and made 2 weights.
Then I filed them to fit between the frame rails and bent the one ahead of the axle to the contour of the frame.
They fit pretty snugly, but I used liquid electrical tape to help them stay in place a little better.
I coated them with more liquid electrical tape just to make them so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. LOL

If anyone is interested in ballast weights for an SCX-10 like the ones I made, I can make them up for a reasonable price.
The rear weight is around 12-14 ounces and the front one is around 6-8 ounces.
If you're interested, send me a PM!

Cuttin the small lugs on my super swampers for a little better bite. 3 more to go and I'll let you know how they work.

So, I finally committed to putting lights on The Mistress last night.
After weighing out my options for about 3 hours, I finally chose a spot for them.
I'm glad I spent so much time contemplating it, since I feel I found the best looking spot for them.

Nice rob. You should take your light bar off your jeep and put it in front of your rack.

I finally figured out how to make the lid stay on my cooler I bought last week.
First off, I drilled 2 holes and used a zip tie to hold it on the truck.
Then I used a strip of the rubber bands they put on lobster claws. I super glued it inside the cooler, stretched it out considerably and glued the other end to the bottom of the lid.
The band holds the lid down firmly, so it t won't move while crawling, but still has enough stretch to be opened when needed.

Ordered the new 2014 Chevy Silverado body for the SCX10 its here, just need to trim and paint now.

Also got the plows working and had fun in the snow.
