What are you working on??

So, after deciding Kaler is on the right track with his accessories in the roof racks on his rigs, I decided to follow suit and make some scale sleeping bags.
My mom had some camouflage fleece which I cut into 1.75" wide strips, rolled them up until they were 1" in diameter, and then super glued some 1/8" wide black ribbon around them to simulate flat woven straps.
The one on the right is complete, and the one on the left needs it's "straps" cut off.

You can get AllThread from most any hardware store. Lowes is good. The tube can be found in some hardware stores too. Or ordered. I like using plastic water line tube. It may not look as fancy but its $.35 a foot comes in clearish and black. Slides really well on rocks and is durable.

I'm real rough on my rigs sometimes so I use traxxas revo rod ends and 10-24 threaded rod. It holds up to 90% of the abuse it gets.

what size is the water line you are using?

Then after finding out that several places do not have the Pro-Line roof racks in stock, my stepfather offered up the black wire mesh he used on his Elver traps to make my own roof rack.
I think 2 things about it:
A) It looks hideous.
B) It will fold like paper after a good tumble.

I think maybe I'll wait until someone has the Pro-Line unit in stock....

Workin on cuttin my 1.9 tsl boggers for maidens cliff this weekend.

I'm working on getting a fellow Maine 4x4 Club staff member hooked on scale crawling!
I think he's going to buy an SCX-10, which is awesome!!!
Just as long as he doesn't copy cat me and buy a Power Wagon too.... LOL:lmao:

So, my rack came in today!
I mounted my "sleeping bags" on it and made 5 bundles of firewood and mounted them on the rack.
So now I can tell you The Mistress has a nice rack. LOL

Today I made a tent bag out of some balsa and a cloth shopping bag:

Some tarps out of blue ribbon:

Mounted them in the roof rack:

And made a better mount for the GoPro handle:

workin on a wroncho. the rear links are mocked up and fronts will be done tomorrow. heading to the shop later this week to turn links on the lathe.

I installed a rear truss.
STRC will do the job for now, with any luck the rig will have vanquish front/rear axles by summer.
