Virginia RC Off Roaders - VARCOR

My wife is crap-booking at the house Sat. 12th , any one up for the Pony Pasture ? Or even F-burg ?

I'm open , and looking for an escape route .:-?

We should be planning our first comp for sometime around April 2008. It will be held in Fredericksburg. It seems to be the best central location at this point. Remember when we do set a date we will be posting it in the comp thread. So keep and eye out for it in Jan.

Are you going to post the other comp dates too - aka a comp series?

Cool, we have our own regional state section now. I was confused at first in the GTG section, couldn't find our thread, then realized the new Regional sections was created.

Anyway, wish I could go out on the 12th, I have playoffs for pool at 10:00 AM, but if we lose and are eliminated early, I can try and swing by on the way home. I won't know until 2:00 if we lose or not. I've got so much I need to do to my trucks too, still haven't finished the final mods. Plus I think I want to build by CC01 now after seeing Chris's.

Post up if you'll be there on the 12th.

think I found us another place to wheel. the back side of Forest Hill Park, you can park on the street and just walk down the hill to the creek bed. need to start carrying around a camera other than my cell phone.

and mid way down

I might go try it out next weekend if anybody is around.

on the comp side of stuff do we need any bridges or other obstacles to start building?

Wazz up guys? Checked this spot out a couple of weeks ago. Looks pretty good I guess. Not sure about courses, I couldn't really see any decent lines but for some fun crawling I think it has potential. Don't know how well 2.2's would do the rocks are HUGE. It would be challenging for a super though. Plenty of parking. check it out : IMG_0554_resize.JPG

Looks great, Plus the kids could go over to the wavepool while I was there crawling, Sweet. I think the 2.2's can hold there own there. I would like to see a trail ride. I love water. "thumbsup"

Yea me too. I posted the water fall as a cross over point because it almost seems the other side would be more fun then the park side. If the water was too high to cross there is a baseball park/field about a quarter mile down from the park on the opposite side. It would be a slight walk but accessible.

A couple more picks and a movie from Forest Hill Park.

I could only make it 3 to 5' up this face before I would pull a wheel stand, need to put some weight in the front.

trying this v notch. (click on pic)

Yea it was pretty cool had some dirt loose soil hill climbs. I was there for about an hour and just hit that little bit. the one rock area with the movie is within sight of the truck and the lower creek area is right down from that, maybe 100 yards or so from the truck. could do alittle trail riding there also
I parked on 34th between Stonewall and Springhill.

Hey guys I'm fairly new to this but I am going to be getting an axial soon. I live in VA and was wondering where you all are meeting up. I saw pony pasture and some forest. I am in northern VA about an hour north of harrisonburg. Could you tell me if I would be welcome to join the group and how close I would be if so... I have a friend who is probably going to be getting into this sector of r\c soon as well and we would both enjoy meeting up with fellow crawler r\c'ers

Thank You

Hibbs

Anyone can be part of our club. One of the biggest places we crawl at is in Fredericksburg. If you just search through the threads in the Virginia Forum, you'll see some pics of it. Also check out our website - http://www.varcoffroaders.com/forum/. Just register to join VARCOR. There is a section there with locations to crawl as well. Welcome, look forward to you coming out to a GTG or comp.
