Vanquish Phoenix Portal Kit Came With Wrong Wheels!

Anyone else get the wrong wheels with their recently purchased Vanquish Phoenix Portal Kit? As I was building it this week, I noticed that Vanquish somehow put KM237's in the box, rather than the KM233's that were supposed to come with it. I am also missing the hardware and hubs. No big deal, Vanquish will replace them, right? WRONG. I just got an email from the owner? Michael Pham. He said that the KM237's are what are supposed to come with the kit now. That just stinks of a bait and switch to me. Not only did their website and Horizon's website specifically state that I'd be getting the 233's when I ordered the kit, but they still do to this very day.

Likely just a running change nobody mentioned to the person doing the website info.

I think I have a whole set (4) of the 233 wheels from my phoenix straight axle kit that only 1 has been used as the spare on the back of my truck. If you want I'd ship them to you if you paid shipping.

The 237 wheels have molded in hubs and use less screws for the beadlock system than the 233. 233 also uses coarse threaded self taper style screws for the beadlock rings if I remember correctly.

But honestly, I'd just get on eBay or Amazon and order up some metal bead lock wheels and skip the plastic all together. But fwiw that's me, and I like steel wagon wheels generally so...

I saw your post on the Vanquish Facebook group and will echo what was stated there. It's not a bait and switch, it's website error as they forgot to update the descriptions to be in line with the new KMC riot wheels.

Those KMC machetes are are not worth the trouble. They look good but they are a pain to mount due to having each side of the beadlock having it's own set of screws compared to most 3 piece beadlocks which can be mounted just from the back. The riots you got instead are an objectively better design in every way.

1. Michael Pham isn't the owner of Vanquish.

2. Vanquish has nothing to do with Horizon or the Horizon website.

3. Companies make mistakes in manuals, on their website, in emails, etc. It happens. It was a mistake. It's not like you've been had.

5. They're plastic wheels so I don't understand the big deal. It's not like you've been had.

I've given away multiple sets of those 233's. I don't like having the screws on both sides. It's a pain in the butt and a waste of time to me. I understand some may like that look and that's fine and dandy.

I saw your post on the FB group. I WaNT WhAT I pAId FoR! :ROFLMAO:

Dude, it was a running change and the site needs to be updated but you did NOT get ripped off. The wheels and tires you got are FAR better than what the website showed. The VXTs were trash and so were the wheels. Who would want those ugly ass steel rings with cap head screws poking out over a set of Riots?

@quick5pnt0 I'm sure somebody would be willing to sell you, or maybe even give you those wheels for the cost of shipping. Place up a wanted ad.
Multiple people offered him those wheels for free on his FB post but he didnt want them. He was upset because the Riots cost less than the 233s so he did not get the same "value" of components. He wanted what he paid for.

ETA: That was the reason for my snarky comment above.
