Has anyone switch the stock motor and put in an Integy 55 turn and how did it perform. Would the gear ratio really change drastically, thinking about purchasing a sport.

Why go down to a wimpy 540-sized can?

The 550-sized larger can provides ample torque, if you think you want it to crawl slower, just get a 27t Holmes TrailMaster Sport 550 to replace the 21t Traxxas Titan - they're only $20.

Really great budget motor, and they last forever.

I dropped a HH 550 trailmaster sport 27t with a 9 tooth pinion in mine just the other day. It has torque like crazy and can still blow donuts in high gear on loose surfaces and smooth concrete. I had to lock my slipper clutch cause it has so much. You can get the trailmaster in 35 and 45 turn I think, but you might want a slipper eliminator if your going that route. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I'm just used to having that torque while crawling at really slow speed. at that time used to crawl with a Axial Rubicon Jeep which was set up for slow crawl. Unfortunately I had a minor setback and had to sell everything. just getting back into the hobby.

No problem bro. Welcome back! You really can't go wrong with the HH trailmaster. I don't know if I'd go more then 35t with the Trx, but you could surely try. Going from the stock 21t motor with stock 11t pinion to a 27t with 9t pinion.... Massive torque gain no doubt! Keep us in the loop! Look forward to seeing some pics of your rig and maybe a build thread. Have a great day!

Gearing down will also help with your slow speed torque but smoothness will come from the esc and motor I’ve noticed the stock esc isn’t as smooth as my hobbywing

Before spending any money on a new motor, I would recommend installing the 9t pinion on the Titan 21t motor first. This will improve slow speed torque.

thanks guys for all the help, I've decided to buy the Trx4 sport so i wont have to deal with locking diffs or 2 speed. just want to go out and slow crawl, more agreeable to my age. just turned 61 0n the 27th of December.

Happy Belated B-Day!

I just turned 54 myself a month or so back, slow crawlin' is just the thing to relax after a stressful week of work...

Happy belated to durok and felixperez. Mine was yesterday- Dec 29th... screwed out of b-day presents my whole life haha. You're gonna love the TRX4, OP. I've got the D110 and Bronco variants.

I turned 65 back in November. Have fun with your Sport, you're gonna love it!

You are so right, nothing like figuring out how to go up some rocks and at what angle and watching the suspension do its thing. Happy belated birthday, mine was December 27 a few days back.

You'll love the sport, I got one a few months ago. The single speed trans comes with a 17 tooth pinion, smallest you can go is 15 tooth without changing to a bigger spur gear. 15 tooth works well, crawls great and still had enough wheel speed
