Well thanks to crawl-o-matic and ottsix racing and the prize money I received from there build off competition I won I was able to order my Tekin ROC 412 3100kv motor, Castle BEC, Mamba Max Pro ESC , Vanquish axle shafts and Crawler Innovation's 6.0 double deuce foams and i'm just waiting for them to come in. Thanks again guys!

While waiting on my new purchases I made my hood scoop and fuel fil like the 1:1 out of some scrap aluminum i had and got it all secured down.

I know how you feel Greg , I never won anything ever either and just got lucky on this one. There were a lot of great builds in the competition with some high dollar and had fabricated rigs.

Well got my parts in the mail , time to get to work and water proof everything !








Got started by removing the case of the MMP speed control. I took the board out of the lower case, taped the holes on the side for the fan and sensor, covered the plugs for the sensor and fan on the board with a thick coating of hot glue to protrude through the opening on the case. Filled the bottom case with epoxy about a 1/4 " and then put the board back in and then covered the top of the board as well about 1/8 above the rim of the case. I let it set over night then removed the tape and took a 90° pick tool to remove the hot glue. Works great !

I also water proofed the Tekin ROC 412 . Started by stripping it down and coating the sensor board with liquid electrical tap on both sides about 3 coats each. After that dried I put it back in and thread locked the screws. Mind you with everything I've done including the ESC I cleaned them first before applying any sealant and epoxy using brake cleaner that removes grease / dirt without leaving any residue. Anyway after the sensor board I used a RTV silicon based sealant good for temps up to 400° F and applied it liberally around the end caps and sensor plug to get a great water tight seal. Cross my fingers and hope no or very little water gets past the bearings and I should be good.

Made some progress on my suspension. Got my Crawler Innovation Double Deuce Foams and Dlux Fab sway bar kit installed. Also did a bit of modding to the RC4WD scale shocks in the rear, had issues with them over extending and with the weight caused the E - clip to rip off the shock shaft and fall out of the shock body. I put a single limit strap on to attempt to stop that but wasn't enough so I drilled out the shaft opening to fit the larger diameter shock shaft from the stock Wraith shocks which also has a lock nut for the shaft.

Also made the panels that go behind the front tires which also help hide and protect my electronics.

The dlux sway bar looks great, how does it affect the handling and articulation ? I guess you could grind the bar down a bit if it is too stiff.

Haven't got it out yet , been to cold and a lot of snow so I'm hoping to get on some rocks this weekend since its warming up to the 40° - 50°.
But from what I can tell just messing around with it in the house I think I'm going to like it. It's a little slow to articulate but doesn't reduce my articulation but by maybe 1/8" - 1/4" and will help a lot with fast turning and side hilling and should dramatically reduces body roll. I'll post up more when I get it on some trails.

Can't wait to get my set of these bad boys ! First pic of the cad rendering of the new Ottsix Voodoo U4 tire. With the compounds he offers plus the tread pattern these tires are sure to eat up the rock and dirt !

Had a great time last weekend at the Piston Power Show in Cleveland at the NOSTR booth ! Thanks to gijoe for all his hard work to put this together and setting it up. Our club basically sets up a course to crawl on at Ohio's largest auto show and we do demo's of what we do and answer any questions people may have in order to help our hobby grow. Gijoe also was able to get a few mini Traxxas Summits provided by Summit Racing Products for people to try out on our course. It was our second year doing it and will probably only get bigger next year, can't wait. Next up for my rigs will be at the " king of Guru's " comp in July and then on to ECSC in Pennsylvania this August. Going to be a fun summer !
