Landcruiser 110
Quarry Creeper
hey guys was wondering how you guy have locked your 2wd slash diffs, ive googled it looking for parts but come u with nothing, hope you guys can help me out, thanks"thumbsup""thumbsup"
to get better control of the car when in the dirt and to get it to hold its line better, so what weight oil do i need, or is ther a strait diff lock i am able to put in it, thanks for your help
I filled my diff with a moly based engine assembly grease (its what I had lying around). Pretty thick stuff. Mine seems to act like a locked diff in anything loose (dirt, sand, etc) but on rubber tracks, concrete and high grip surfaces it drives like a limited slip. Sound like what you are looking for? I have the stock VXL system in mine.
I liked the locked diff in my Slash. Made it more fun to slide corners and it also worked great in the sand, but you have to drive it different.
I used JB Weld in the diff.
I used the Traxxas steel yokes and the plastic shafts.Did you use the stock plastic shafts or did you upgrade to something stronger? I would simply run my JB welded diff with my MIP's, but both sets of X-Duty shafts (SCX10 and Slash) have been packaged with the wrong parts/count, and I don't want to deal with MIP any more than I have to at this point (meaning not breaking parts).
I used the Traxxas steel yokes and the plastic shafts.
One disclaimer, I never ran a brushless system in it. I only ran brushed motors like 16T on 3S or an 11T Holmes Handwound on 9.6V for the sand.
Agreed. That's one are where they are cutting corners and it shows.Yeah, I've just got the stock VXL and snapped one on 2s... Inspecting them after I removed them, they were twisted all over, both male and female ends, the ears were no longer straight, and every single hole was wallowed out. I wish Traxxas would get off the plastic shaft jag they've been on forever. Their VXL and nitro models should come with something more substantial out of the box.
Im running an Intellect 5000mah 7cell NiMh Batteryi would say tone down the motor a bit. that would make it a lot more drivable. also what battery are you using?
i would also try reigning in the power a bit. that is way to much to be controllable.Im running an Intellect 5000mah 7cell NiMh Battery
Thanks for all the suggestions, i might try the automotive grease"thumbsup"
