timmy two times - toyzuki suzuki

thanks! the pucker factor for that was pretty high...

gotta put the rc stuff on hold for a decent amount of time. when i get back to this prolly going to get it to c1/c0 spec with a full styrene body and axial rails or a custom set of rails that are basically a clone of the toyzukis so i can keep my sliders.

I have a set of aluminum toyzuki rails I would trade for the g10. Its a prototype set that has 8 hole shock towers and a set of holes for adjustability for skid mounting location. Does not have the tall section at the front of the rails for his cms rails.

Sweet build! What's the status...over a year later?

life happened... just kinda lost ambition. havent even been on the forum in quite awhile. i also got a little wrapped up in my 1:1 and spent a couple months bringing it back from years and years of chicago neglect. did alot of 4wheelin and campin with my dog. yadda yadda.

i got my ass relocated to colorado a few months ago and am slowly getting out of my funk. dusted off this project and all my tools and parts and all that and am gonna get back on it here shortly, maybe doing something i used to enjoy will get my head a little happier and get me moved on to greener pastures.

emo af i know. midlife crisis but the opposite of the typical version.

also gotta say its insane how much the hobby has progressed just in a year or so. almost feels like timmy two times is a bit outdated now but i gotta keep focused on it being a scale comp rig with alot of details and not a total dollhouse build.

I think we all have emo moments. It blows, but it's part of life.

I would think you'd have a lot better crawling spots in Colorado versus Chicago. If so that's something to help get your chin up and get motivated.

sneaking up on it... got some minideans and skinny silicone wire comin from amazon for the cob strip up top, and i need to braze the lower tubes on the bumpers, then put it all together.

got it together for like the hundredth time... figured id shoot some pics before i tear it down again. gotta slightly trim the cutouts in the bed to clear the shocks a little better and i dunno if im diggin the droop setup with the internal springs. gonna give it a shot on some rocks and compare it to timmy v1 before i go messing with them tho.

neat lookin little rig imho. the cob strip on top is bright as hell... i doubt itll get much use as i just really did it for scale points.

also... next damn rig i build im gonna make it simple. i tell myself this with every project and EACH time i go down the damn rabbit hole. the flippin fender flares on this rig add at least 30 minutes to tearing down the body/interior/cage. total hassle...

That’s the coolest Suzuki comp style rig I’ve seen... inspiration!

thank you.

i got a little carried away on the interior and drop bed. if i was really serious about it being competitive i woulda used about half the styren that i did. possibly a wraith floorboard with dinky cheap seats and a lexan drop bed from an existing bodyset. i considered just fleshing out the styrene to a full custom hardbody as all i really need to pull it off would be a hood and windshield frame. but i wanted to be able to bash it a little and slap a new body on when needed.

Yes Sir................. Top notch build..... I tell myself the same thing.... This one is going to be simplistic and light.... never happens... I like cool steel bits on my builds to much...
