love the old school feel and teh traxxas yokes/shafts. and the K2 style chassis. classics.

i vote full flares, but too late.

And to think, I was only 1 vote shy from keeping the full flares…

I went with flat tan for the hard top. Not sure if I love it or not. My other choices were flat white or flat light grey. Im going to stick it out with the tan for now and try to get this thing running and wheel the crud out of it.

I added RC4WD clear Wrangler windows and i'm working on a partial interior/driver dude.

I need to detail the body lines, install the head/tail lights and such.

Keeping with the theme of the "Old School" build, I had this older interior "kit" and these awesome Original Scale Offroad emblems. I dolled up the emblems a bit and put them on.




I worked on the finishing touches to the body today. Added a rear bumper. Front shackles. Body lines. Interior bits. (partial interior). Head lights and tail lights detail and installed. Its coming together. I need to work on some wheel wells and add electronics. I can't wait to wheel this.



Old School RCC decal. Adds plus 5 turns to your motor.





Its not perfect. Its not super scaled out. But its mine and I want to play with it.

It flexes pretty nasty too.

Thanks, I wasn't feeling the color at first and was dreading stripping it and starting over, but i LOVE it now.

i used spray on plasti dip (black) for my removeable hardtop TJ. worked awesome. misting it on. also gave a super realistic texture like the 1:1s have. was alot more durable than paint too.

I actually have black textured paint which no matter what color I paint the top in my other YJ/TJ builds I lay a coat of it on it, then paint over it. It does give it that realistic texture. I planned on doing that to this one and when I sprayed a test spot on cardboard it came out all gunky. Its an old can of spray since I rarely use it. I got lazy and instead of going to the store to get more, I just sprayed it flat tan. Oh well. Next time I go to the hardware store, textured paint is on the list.

OK so I finally got this thing all dialed in suspension and electronic wise. It is a runner and even though not the most "scale" in terms of today's rigs, it wheels great and is a ton of fun. It is pretty unstoppable! I let my son wheel it and he loved it.

This guy was a fun build and super fun to drive. With all the RTR stuff available now, I enjoy the old school stuff simply because it’s nostalgic and it’s all we had back then.

Anyway. I like this Jeep

I have been clearing out the bench and some old stuff and I have some of the same parts used in the build. If I have enough to do it without buying anything new, I may make a clone of this fun old skool Jerp
