The ONE plastic gear in the servo stripped...

I can't believe it.. I haven't even owned the thing for a year and I've broken almost everything that allows it to steer... and last night the steering went... again... Just racing around the yard, chasing the dog, then I could barely turn left.

So I started turning right to drive it back to me to see what was causing the issue to find it just sitting there ticking whenever steering was activated. Ripped everything apart and found that the ONE plastic gear in the servo is missing almost half its teeth.

Any recommendations on how to fix this besides getting a new servo? It would be super nice to replace it with a metal one so I don't have to worry about it ever again but I think it's plastic for a reason given the ridiculously small size. I have contacted Axial support but have yet to receive a response.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Check out the MG995 servos on eBay. They're not awesome but they are by far the best bang for the buck cheap servo I have EVER seen. They're like $6 and have all metal gears and something like 140 oz/in of torque.

Same thing literally happened to me yesterday running it around the track at my LHS. My Savox 1256TG will be here tomorrow. I figured it would only be a matter of time after I stiffened the saver.

I found a local guy that was selling a Savox SW-1210SG for $30, so I picked that up as well as the metal gear from eBay. Figured I'd repair the stock servo to have as a backup.

Thanks everyone for the help! This will complete the refurb of everything that works the steering from stock.
