The Chop Shop- 1990 Class 1 Topless K5 Blazer

Awesome build, I love the paint and that dash is killer!

Coming along nicely love that dash and those colors pop!
Thanks guys. I think it'll all come together to be one beautiful rig. Im trying to decide on either a styrene rod cage or a simple metal one. If I go styrene it'll still be very strong, but as you could imagine it'd be ALOT lighter. I'm in a hold pattern on that until my styrene shows up for the floor, so I have plenty of time to decide.

Thats going to be way to beatiful of rig to be trail riding. I only wish i was capable of building something even half as awesome as this.

Thanks man, it's not that hard. Just take your time "thumbsup"
.
this makes me want to do my 1981 k20 "thumbsup"
Go for it "thumbsup"

SO I threw this together real quick last night. It's the CB for my K5. I backlit it with a amber LED and made it all from .20 styrene and some wire. After having built this I kind of have to back light the dash gauges now.

Awesome build those seats look sweet
Thanks "thumbsup"

Wow great build and lots of detail therr. What dash is it and will it fit hilux/mojave body?

Thanks
Thanks, I bought the dash from Geoff Docherty on Facebook. I'm not sure if it'll fit a Hilux or not man.

Coming along fantastic brother! The paint job is rad!
Thank you sir.

So I've been messing with the dash today. I drilled out the gauges and used some frosted plexi-glass for the lenses.

I used Testors clear window glue to secure the lenses. Then I started making the light box.

I also lined the inside of the box with a chrome decal.

Then I decided to open the ashtray.

And once I added power, I had this

Thanks "thumbsup"

Sick isnt the word for it, it just keeps getting more and more unbelievable! Great work!
Thank you sir "thumbsup"

I got two coats of clear on her. I'm looking into some smaller emblems from MTHead to go on the sides before I spray the last coat of clear and detail out the body. I want to make sure they dont fall off on the trail "thumbsup". Anyways, enough talk, onto the pics .

I messed up and sanded off the passenger side lock . Once I get ready for the last clear coat I'll make a couple that look a little more realistic.

This is going to be the finished ride height. I may be able to drop it down just a touch, but I figure once it's sitting on the shocks it'll drop just a touch anyways.

I got set of the metal emblems from RRP when i ordered my proline body but the body came with stickers that look a little better. But with your attention to details I bet you could make the metal emblems look great on there.

Thank you sir. I got these custom made by MTHead. They should fit perfectly "thumbsup".

Interior work has begun . I tried to stay as close to I could to the factory setup.

Test fit

Fits great "thumbsup"

After a little paint.

I started working on my shifter. I decided to shoot for something along the lines of a Hurst.

I used some clear styrene and added a LED to the inside.

After some paint and detail work.

Installed.

The CB, dash and shifter lit up.

After installing the seats I had this.

The seats are going in here. I've also got to hide the battery and electronics somewhere in here.

Looks awesome. Not sure I like the rear seats myself but the rest looks good.

It'll come together. If not I'll make something else to go back there. I still have alot of electronics and the lipo to hide.
