Rock Stacker
Hello all! This is the thread for my high school's fleet of crawlers for the new Crawler Club. After about a year of procrastination I finally managed to find a sponsor and get the club going. All progress for the builds will be in this thread (I put it in 2.2 general because all of the trucks are 2.2s).
The main trucks for the club are a fleet of 5 AX10 Scorpion RTCs that I picked up recently. Truck #2 is the most incomplete, missing the left half of the axle, the driveshafts, an ESC, and rx/tx.
And then there's truck #3, which seems to overall be in fair condition. It will need a new ESC though, as the old aftermarket one has been wired sketchy.
Truck #5 is in quite good condition, although it is missing the driveshafts. I've yet to check the wiring and gears.
Truck #8 is fully ready to go. In fact, I actually brought it to school and drove it around the other day as a way to help get people interested in the club. Currently it is the only AX10 that is ready to run.
And then there's truck #9, which was actually the nicest one of the bunch until the old ESC burned up after I got it home. I threw in an old Axial AE-1 ESC that came with the lot as a temporary fix, although the truck started to act incredibly strange, as if the radio became unbound from the receiver. I'll be looking into that after I finish cleaning up my Ridgecrest.
Another truck that I'll be letting the club members use is my old Max Stone 10 from when I first got into the hobby. It's fully ready to run as-is, and the only thing I need to do is put the motor and ESC back in it, as I stole them for my 10.3 to test it out.
And finally are the three Everest 10s. They're all in varied condition, though none are ready to run. Truck #2 needs a rear driveshaft, truck #5 needs new differential gears, and truck #1 needs new driveshafts and a new ESC.
Overall I think they should be a good fit for the club. Most of the parts that need to be replaced can be found on the cheap side, and it's good to learn how to work on the trucks. The only thing that I'm worried about are the Redcats, as they seem to have been bashed around fairly hard, and I've not gotten a good look inside of the axles and gearboxes yet. I'll post all of the updates regarding these trucks in here. Hopefully it goes well!
