Team Carnage Crew's KOH 2010 chassis build

Little more done this weekend, I got the remaining tube work that could be done at this point done, cut down both my axle housings, driver seat is mounted, and started drilling and tapping the lugnuts. That's a pain by the way, I'm thinking about trying to pull some strings and have some hex stock turned into better ones. We can't run any hex bigger than 7/8 because of the wheels and so far I can't find any long 5.8"x18 nuts. Wish I woulda remembered my camera, the rear end sure looks sexy sittin under the chassis with the whole full float spider9, 14" cross drilled rotors, and wilwood dynalites. "thumbsup"

On a side note, ya'll should hear the Ford they are putting some bitchin interior aluminum panels in, one rowdy soundin sum biatch. Makes you vibrate in all the right places. "thumbsup" :ror:

Must be why Kris won't call me back about my damn shop door. It's getting cold Kris!!!:flipoff::flipoff:

Now, Back to the buggies... BAD AZZ!!! I may have to swing by again and check em out.

Been slacking on the update so ere they are for you guys. Went out of town last week so didn't get much done. Waiting on a big order from the lazer cutter for Pickets chassis. So I figurded I would get going on the hoods. Well a steel hood I will use to make a mold of for the fiberglass hoods. Started with some .375 round bar and mad a wire frame of sorts. Then started to shape the metal panels. Then i will finish the hood with some body filler to get it perfect. If it was going to stay steel I would spend allot more time on the metal but since it is just for a mold I am not worried about the amount of body filler it will take to get it pefect.

What are you using to shape the steel with?Is it just laying and forming to the frame or are you having to use a english wheel?

Using an English wheel just roughing it. It is not perfect still has some ridges and inperfections in it.

Darren at Crane Hi Clearance helped me out and cut, drilled and tapped my front 7075 aluminum links. They were too big to fit in their indexer to put flat spots on so I stuck them in Aarons mill and ran a couple flats on each end. Lower links are 2.5" dia and will take a 2" wrench, uppers are 2" and will use a 1 3/4" wrench. Got my model to showcase one of the lowers, for size reference. Don't think we'll be bending these anytime soon. "thumbsup"

Umm Jason.....Are you compensating for something? Ummm....My goodness!

Yea I have to make up for my short comings some where. I saw Aarons 2" lowers and had link envy, had to show him mines bigger. :ror:

Got a few more pieces done on the hood after work today. starting to take some shape.
