Team Associated teasing a scale crawler!

RCDriver mentioned specifically it's super quiet.

I just got the chance to watch his video. Somehow I missed it earlier. He did a great review on this truck. That was one thing that really impressed me was how quiet and smooth it looked.

Oh jeez...
$325 RTR is tempting. Now the SSD trail king is being teased but it's a kit and no ideas on price yet...

Bahhhh what's a guy who needs a new rig to do???!!!?!

pre-ordered mine from LHS. he is a Associated dealer and gives me great prices

Stopped by the LHS today to ask if they were getting one. They arent an associated dealer but can get them from their distrubutor. One he had access to told him shipping mid next month. I stopped in to buy a Gen8 but may just have to wait for him to get a couple in...

LIKE!
Ernie please tell everyone we said hi and wish we could be there.

I'm having real trouble deciding between this and the SSD rig! And NO I can't do both lol

Been looking for a second rig for friends to rip around with. This might become my primary and the electronics moved over to the SCX10.2.

no interior is a deal breaker for me

So you’re going to limit yourself to the one or two trucks on the market solely based on the fact they have an interior which is probably a $15 piece of lexan?

Buy one of those generic interiors off eBay. Problem solved.

I'm an Associated fanboy (especially their early stadium trucks), so this is very exciting for me. I really like what I see so far from an engineering perspective, and if this uses the same high quality materials that Associated's other vehicles use, this should be an amazing truck.

i had a gut laugh this morning watching Harley bang them around with imthatguy at proline... lexan noises @ 11:35 hahaha

Yeah, that part was hilarious. They seem to have fun annoying the Canadian.

I think Traxxas shook it up big with the TRX4 and now AE throws some serious engineering and big name into this market, the competition is good for us all. Can't lie, for those of us that raced way way back in the day with original RC10's this has some appeal on multiple levels.

Couldn't agree more. I'm excited to add another AE product to my rig collection.

I think that’s where my excitement is from also....... They never broke, just ate tires and batteries

Hang up and Drive

Having seen this in person at Proline BTF I'm pretty impressed with how well though out it is. I think it was Ernie who asked " what took you so long" and they said they'd been working on it for quite some time which does show.

Overdrive out of the box with 2 ratios provided, 5 slot motor (maybe both are a 1st?). 2 different grades of plastic for skids and sliders, hard but lighter (more brittle) or the softer more durable plastics are either provided or available. Axles that allow the ring gear to go on either side to reverse the direction for multiple applications (reverse motor with no timing options, reverse rotation transfer cases). The skid/tranny mount hole pattern is the same as an axial (3 gear I believe) which could make swapping in the Element tranny on an Axial a breeze (or the other way around but I want the overdrive). Tires feel decent enough to keep. Behind the axle steering is great, the front C-hub and knuckle has plenty of kingpin inclination and castor can be adjusted which I really appreciate, Uni's out of the box, front end looks solid design wise. I think the axle pumpkin looks fine, scale enough for me.

I just dont see a ton of stuff that needs replacing to satisfy my wants, maybe just the receiver to run a nicer radio, the body and servo. But I'm picky with my crawlers and tend to throw away almost all the electronics, tires, wheels and suspension.

Body is the only let down I saw, they could have got a lot more attention with a licensed body. I did see one painted up from a distance and it almost looked like a Dodge D100 which would have been really sweet.

Now what do I sell to make space for this??

I can see the tranny and axles being very handy for custom builds.

im with ya casey, really nice truck there. and yes what to sell? kidney for this, liver for the SSD trail king? LOL (doubt i'll do both but its hard to choose right now until we get full deets on the trail king)

the timing on this really couldn't be better. such a great time for this hobby!!!

Well I was thinking more along the lines of selling a truck not organs lol, but hey you gotta do what you got to do.

I just looked up Sendero which is Spanish for path/trail/footpath, okay better than number and letters for a name. First thing that came to mind was Sendero Send it edition lol (maybe thats what Josh and the guys were testing in their day 2 vlog)
