I just checked out the video!!! Way cool place to crawl!!! The truck looks very capable!!! Might just have to try it!!! I subed too!!

hahaha your welcome for the views/likes Soze lol

also in his unboxing he swapped out to a HW1080 because he needed an XT60 plug for his batt and the enduro comes with deans. anyway some are reporting a very punchy reverse on these. looks like Soze solved the problem haha but yeah is anyone else noticing the punchy reverse? iw as trying to decide between kit or RTR and i was going to grab another HW1080 for the kit but i think i'll go with the RTR and just use reverse very gently.

The front was bouncing and hopping around getting to that 1st tier ledge before the left turn cliff. I think it needs a little more weight around the axles to keep it planted when getting up onto that 1st ledge. It's a pretty light truck to start with, so that's good and should be easier to adjust weight balance than it is when starting out with a heavy truck.

The humongous front bumper has to go though. So I saw on the tube that Element said the front bumper was "Dodge" inspired, so I'm guessing the body is "Dodge" inspired as well. That should make @Browneye happy continuing with "It's a Dodge!" approach.

BTW, I saw some other lines that the guys were crawling... Some were impressive! I need to go try them out!

Can any of you guys confirm or deny whether the wheels accept SLW hubs or not? I know RPP has the metal ones for 17 bucks but I have scads of SLW hubs and would like to know before ordering whether or not to order the hubs from team associated or whether I can use what I have.

PSA from the FB group that definitely isn't as good as here:

When you take your transmission apart to install the higher % overdrive gears, don't mix up the long and short screws when mounting the trans back on the skidplate.

YIKES!!!!!!
this is why i hate dealing with gears, either RC or 1:1.

i bet it still ran smooth once it self-clearenced though hahaha

Plan to come up some weekend and spend a few hours there. It's a beautiful venue, right on the mouth of Newport Harbor, the crawling is excellent, and there's always some fellow crawlers hanging out.

I'll let you know if there's a club event there as well - it's really a blast then with a full-on comp, gates, food, the whole shebang.

The only downside is that it gets super busy on sunny summer weekends and the parking lot can fill up. That and it's $2 an hour to park, or $16 for the day. Who ever heard of that kind of $$ to day-park for public access? Oh yeah, Newport Beach. :lmao:

The first time I saw rigs climbing that little bit of technical, I would have bet a rig could not drive through there. Mostly they roll off, crashing down below. But low and behold, if you have good weighting and good traction tires, they'll go up and thru there. It's a great test for any crawler rig and driver skill. "thumbsup" We go down there most weekends for a few hours, and done a few comps there, so we know all the cool lines and it's a great proving and test grounds for your rigs and mods.

Nice and nice video, I'ma have to come down and join y'all after work one evening!!!

Riiiiggghhhtt.....it's only 430 miles!

So you know when you have a floating holiday that you need to use by the end of the quarter? Yeah, I used it today. I went down to CDM again in the morning and did a run with the Enduro in stock form for the last time. I'll start a thread and post up pictures and videos later tonight.

One thing I noticed that I mentioned earlier. We all know the Enduro has pretty good steering angle. It also uses universals. I noticed that it has wheel hop when throttling with the wheel at an angle at burst speeds. I haven't experienced this in my BOM, but that runs CVDs. My BOM also has weight and alloy wheels. I need to figure out how much of this behavior is due to the universals, and how much is due to lack of weight up there. I'll point it out when I post a video.

^^^Nice use of a holiday soze!

Looking forward to your thread!
