Tamiya MF-01X

I ordered a bunch of Traxxas 5x8 and 5x11 bearings, but had to get the 5x8 flanged through Duratrax......not a fan of that brand, but at least there's only 2 of them!

I'm gonna say Yes you do need that special flanged Bearing.
I bought a set of bearings from Fast Eddys and it come with all of them.
You can also just buy them separately from Fast Eddy.
I built and ran my chassis a little bit but now I'm not going to be using it..
It is a Fast little chassis tho. :D

Avidrc.com has great deals on bearings and you can buy as many as you want of each size. Great looking little kit, I miss having a kinda fast smaller all wheel drive 'basher' of sorts. "thumbsup"

Well, it's built enough to see how well Tamiya's red sedan shocks fit at normal, sedan length........still have the same uptravel from rest and more droop and some lift over the stock pogo sticks!

Here's mine, swapped the Tamiya Red Shocks in for the factory Pogo Sticks and HPI VTA "Stock Car" wheels over the kit supplied VW Golf rims.l8)

Do you have a Part# for those shocks?
My search is coming up goose eggs.

Get a chance to run the chassis around yet?

Haven't had the chance to run it yet, Mom is back in the hospital and I haven't had the chance to go and find one of the 55t motors I know I should have.........somewhere, and still need to finish installing the electronics, as well as figure out what color to paint it. I'm trying to give each one of my trucks it's own identity, while tying them together with my use of bedliner somewhere on the lower half of the body. I'venso far ruled out Blue (Wheely King), Black (Ascender), Grey (Telluride), and Green (SCX-10), but don't like red and think Yellow will be too.......Bumble Bee like , have thought about Model Master's Chrysler Dark Bronze Metallic Lacquer though!

Here's the Shocks Ron8)

And the springs I put on it after taking these pics"thumbsup"

I put the reds in the front and the yellows in the back (which, oddly enough, is what I typically run on my M-03 too?!) and used Traxxas 35wt all around (not what I typically use, but had that from the GT-R shocks I just put on my Pede), those springs are a bit short compared to the stiff, chromed springs that come with the truck as well as the shocks, so I'm going to throw spacers on the shocks to get the ride height back up there.

I also had to modify the suspension on the right rear to clear the cover for the propshaft gear on that corner, I ended up using the raised ball stud for the steering knuckle on the M-03 and trimmed the outter ball cup to clear, I also didn't use any spacers between the shock mount ball studs and the arms and chassis, which does lean the top of the shock slightly towards the front of the truck.

Thanks.
That is some good information to know too.

I'm still deciding on colors too..
If it was a model, I'd just Prime it and call it good.. LOL..

Lol, I do like that idea, and if it was a Tracker/Sidekick or Samari, I'd consider something similar, did at one time thing of colors like you would find on a mountain goat or something Jiminey Cricket inspired too:ror: I've got a can of Model Master 1968 Chrysler Dark Bronze Metallic Lacquer from that Proline 1/16 Bug body I painted for my Fiesta Volksrod a while back that still feels like there's plenty left in the can for this little body, plus it's going to get strategically bed lined like I've done with a bunch of my other crawler, scaler, and basher bodies over the last several years, should ad some reinforcement to the lower edged of the bodies too.

I may have to look into those tires and the 1.55 Landy wheels for mine now.........and I haven't even had the chance to paint the damned thing yet!

That's what I'm hoping for. I also have a little rally track in the backyard. I don't think it's gonna take turns much faster than that anyway.plus I'm not gonna ve scarred to hand the controller to my 5 year old lol.
