T-Box and Shooter Shackles

I've got my leaf spring mounts reversed on the front axle. Stock box at front of the leaf and shackle to the back of the leaf.

Installed a pair of shooter shackles on the back axle and love them.

Have several questions...

1) Is it advantageous to install shooter shackles at the back of the front axle?

2) Is it advantageous to install t-boxes on both axles? If not which axle?

3) Are there other components that should also be changed if say t-box and shooter shackles are used on both axles? I thought I'd need longer shocks with shooter shackles installed on just the rear axle. But it turns out that no matter what mounting hole I installed the 110mm shocks in, they yielded less articulation than the stock 100mm shocks.

Thanks!

I use tbox at both ends and Junfac M shackles, same design as a shooter shackle on my class 1 H.L. Hilux. Works great though better with a relocated steering servo as the front end can get sloppy. Tbox towards in inner end of the leafs and shooters at the outer ends.

It's not in RCC, but the cANZ forum based out of Australia. The link is here.

If you require additional details I can get for you.

Thanks, especially for the insight on relocating steering servo.

Anyone else have input on using tbox and shooter shackles all around, and shock length?

No Tbox, Junfac make M Shackles. Same as shooter but not as scale but when shooters first came out I found the Junfacs worked better.

Check and see that you're getting full compression on the 110's. If they're even slightly overfilled you may be getting far less uptravel.

^Thanks! They are rc4wd scale shocks like the ones included in the kit so they aren't filled with oil. I used my hands to compress and measure the articulation. The 110mm being an overall longer shock meant that the opposite side axle could not rise as high up under compression. Obviously the opposite effect favored the 110 as it could travel further the other way. But overall there was more than a 10mm difference in articulation.

What length shocks are with the kit? I have z boxes and revolver shackles coming. Will the stock length work or do I need to get some longer? I don't run rocks, but I do run trails with lots of logs and washouts, so flex will help me stay on all four.

I got the boxes and shackles installed but now the stock front driveshaft pops out because it is too short. Have any of y'all ran into this problem.

The junfac driveshafts I have are also too short...... scx10 junfac driveshafts will work but the holes in the output shafts on the TF2 transfer case are too far back from the tip. The pin screws won't go in.... I seem two blocked!!!!
