My usual 1.5 hours of work for tonight.
HeyOK servo winch.
MORE 250lbs winch line
Cut some mount tabs on my newest shop tool, bandsaw.
Rod end into a cross brace and welded a ball end into the chassis.
I know this is not the ideal, scale looking winch setup, not having a bumper fairlead. But the bumper mounts to the body in a snug fashion and I would rather leave the front bumper attached to the body and I am being lazy to figure out a body mount setup if I did mount the bumper to the frame. Also, the winchline would get into the servo horn.

Went with that winch setup cause it worked for how I wanted to position it. The interior rides just on top of it but the spool doesnt hit cause the under side of the seat areas are recessed.
Hobart 140 Handler (110v) on MIG and 0.023 wire. Ideally, a small TIG setup like the ThermalArc95S would be best for R/C crawlering welding.
And my new vertical bandsaw setup is awesome. Going to increase my accuracy on cuts, reduce cost of dremel cutoff wheel purchases and save me time. I got the $12 universal foot pedal for it too.

What bandsaw did you get? I use the crap out of mine, but can't cut steel that's thicker than card stock or I chunk teeth post-haste, and can't find the proper blades to make that not happen.

Cheapo route. Harbor Freight and made a mount to fix it vertically.
I did get an 18 tooth blade for it. All my dad could find after checking three stores. It cuts great. Closest HF to me is 1hr. He picked it up for me last weekend on his way down here. The 24tpi would be better but the 18 works fine for now.

Usual 1hr 30mins of work for tonight.
15 mins for rear elecs tray
1hr 10mins of staring at the back end trying to decide a mount method that didnt require a tool while on the trail or course.
5 mins to screw servo mount and arm to body
Open for body removal. Front end of body slides into chassis mount setup.
Closed and body is darn tight.

Got the seats/floorpan/back cover all mounted with velcro.
Also got all the windows in. I liked the way some guys have used the "rolled down" look so I tried it on the front two windows.
Got some new 1.9 wheels to go with the FC-II's. Rears will tuck with the new offset. Need CI foams and scale ring hardware.

And yes, the shock hoops are meant to be flipped around. That is how they mount with the GCM kit.

About done posting pictures for this build. Need a Holmes Hobbies servo and BRXL. Will rewire then.

Thanks for the kind words.
I dont plan on beating on this Montero so I think the wildboars and whatever else driveshafts I grabbed from the parts bin will hold up. It may not rock crawl worth a darn but could excel as a shelf piece.
I have been working hard trying to get this truck looking decent and completed soon. Just need to wire up lights and order up a HH servo and BRXL.
I have a pile of parts and 3 other trucks to rebuild/build. No rest!
