I have given up on the rear portal as I have now gone through 3 axles. Each with no more than two runs on them. I bought a rear Vanquish portal and I am still using the SSD portal knuckle up front. The over drive with the difference is pretty high, over drive gears in the Vanquish should bring it back down to something reasonable

Different than what I'm doing. I'll be using front Vanquish Currie F9 axles in the front & rear, plus the SSD front portals in the front & rear...ie. 4-wheel steering. The front & rear ring & pinion gears, as well as the lockers, will be Vanquish 30T/8T...ie. no OD. The ID will be accomplished by swapping the portal gears in the front.
I should mention that the portal knuckle kits are the new *Updated* kits, if that makes any difference. Evidently, there was some sort of 'problem' with the original design (don't know what it was), and Chris did a redesign. Whatever the 'problem' was, the *Updated* version appears to be better.
The only thing I haven't yet figured out for this build are the link lengths. In using the stock uppers, the lowers are too short (the axles angle slightly up). Additionally, I'll be using the optional on-axle servo mounts. My plan was to use the replacement uppers (or Ti equivalents) that came with the brackets, so as to slightly increase my wheelbase. As such, I'll need new lowers that are even longer than I would have needed if I stuck with the stock-length uppers.
Right now, the cage, empty axle housings, and stock Capra links & shocks, are in a "mock-up" build. Before I even build the axles, I'll swap the stock uppers for the uppers that came with the on-axle servo mount kits. That way, I can determine what length lowers I'll need. Once I've figured out the needed lengths, I'll order Ti uppers & lowers, as well as the Ti steering links. If everything goes as planned (which, I'm aware, rarely happens...lol), the new links should arrive right around the time that everything else is finished...at least, that's the 'plan'. If the plan "comes together", I'll thank George Peppard.
