How this work out?Even though the stock Axial one piece front axles held up just fine with no issues. I felt that I could of used a little more weight up front.
So I’m going to try ar44 Beef Tubes with Samix brass C-hubs and see how they hold up.

Awesome thx. I currently have Pro44 in the front and diamond in the rear. I trying to figure out what exactly I need to get to convert my axle over portals. On my Pro44 I am running Samix C-hubs. Is the width minus the knuckle the same as stock Pro44? I am also trying figure out where the width increase occurs. I am guessing the portal knuckles. It’s working great. Just the right amount of weight I was looking for. No issues with durability. I do have the portal weights but haven’t needed to us them.
8.4 looks to be rightHi I need clarity on the width. When states 8.4" hex to hex is that outside to outside of hex?

Sorry one more ? about width. Which wheels are you running and what is your total track width?Yes, the portal gear box.

I am running Gmade beadlocks. I chose them because they have a zero offset. I wanted to try and bring the tire back in as far as I could because of the extra width from the portals.Sorry one more ? about width. Which wheels are you running and what is your total track width?

Wow that's a bummer what trans are you running and motor?I may be done with this portal set though. 3 times out with this truck and 3 times I have spun a rear axle tube. First time it was my fault, I think, for not noticing my beadlock rubbing the portal box. Next time I broke the part of a nylon axle tube that goes into the diff. I upgraded to the steel tubes and got a new diff housing, now I broke the housing. This is on my low speed class 1 build. Unless the make a 1 piece rear axle or a metal diff housing I'm probably done. Might have to pony up to buy the vanquish set.
I only ran the truck for maybe a half hour. No jumps, no bashing. Just testing the truck out.
First picture is with steel tubes
Second pic is nylon tube![]()

Sounds like you have torque up the wazoo and possibly found your weak point in your drive train [emoji16]. Do you think a screw loosened allowing it to twist causing the break?I just noticed it while measuring them.
Hot racing LCG ax10 trans, it is a way geared down transmission. Chose it so I could get an interior into my truck and I wasnt too worried about tire speed being a class 1 truck
Motor is a castle 1415 2400kv![]()

Yes there is lots of torque. That's what I wanted. No. This was its first time out after assembling from the last fixSounds like you have torque up the wazoo and possibly found your weak point in your drive train [emoji16]. Do you think a screw loosened allowing it to twist causing the break?
