Squid'nserts and Tusks, tyre "crumpling"?

Tuning rings are optional. They are to fill the space if you have a slightly bigger tire or if you want a slightly firmer outer it's like adding preload to a spring by stuffing them in.

I did not use them in my tires when I ran C.I. foams, but certainly a tuning choice. You could even run them with 3d printed inserts if needed. Lots of permutations.

If you get into 3d printing I'd suggest using 85a tpu filament. I started with 95a but as thin as I could make it it still seemed too stiff for a 9+ pound truck. 85a was good. I just used the 85a I found on Amazon which seemed pretty good. I have no experience with more expensive 85a material though .

Regarding stuffing foams into tires, at least for single stage foams I fold them in half and then fold them again. This keeps them from getting twisted when inserting into the tire. Then the foam "wad" unfolds easily once inside the tire. At that point you can kind of work them into place by stretching the tires a bit... going around a few times to get the foams seated. Dual stage with a firmer/ denser foam isn't always doable like that but indeed foams are typically a larger OD than the actual tire.
