Southern fried with westcoast flavor.

Actually looking through this thread made me want to try some brass chassis building of my own for my trekker. Nothing as crazy as this yet, but def. want to give it a try.

Well its alive kind of :ror:
The monster motor killed the sumo t case real fast..So I made a new stronger one "thumbsup"

1/8 music wire 4 bearings & some aluminum mod pinions with some delrin, this is what I got:

I need some more grub screws to double up on the traxxas yokes as one grub won't cut it for more than 4 seconds...

After a run to the lhs for some grub screws I will get a teaser vid up tomorrow...It will blow your mind, this biotch is a beast!
On 2s its nutty & 3s is pure insanity, I can't belive the power

Yeah!!! I was just thinking about this rig the other day:ror: The T-case looks great bro, should hold up good for ya by the looks of it. Can't wait to see the run vid with all that said power:mrgreen:

My neighbor has my old hobbywing 18T and 18A ESC (it was silly in my 1.9 MRC Pro) exactly like yours in a Redcat Sumo Micro Truggy and it's stupid fast! Wheelies at any speed, and it'll do backflips on command from a slow roll. I can't wait to see what a rig that can put the power down will do!

I like the solid-ness of that T-case. "thumbsup"
Thanks Nige! Its holding up great so far.

I'm sure it's not as bad as it looks but how heavy is this thing

No to bad with everything in it RTR its 16.02oz little over a pound.

Hey bro all I have been thinking about is how to keep it running :ror: The new t-case is holding the power but I have to enclose it to keep the dirt out it locked up at the end of the run in the vid

Its pretty zippy in the vid I used the sidewinder micro esc on 3s...I hope when I get the rally wheels & qlo's back on it will put the power down as the stock sumo rubba didn't...

Here is the first test run on vid:

I can totally believe that dirt got into the t-case  :lmao:

It looks awesome bro and like usual overpowered:ror: Nice work!... I think we need some Qlo action! I see lots of power to balloon them suckers out real nice:mrgreen:

Hows the heat with the GH? You find a good oil?

Thanks bro! I got the Qlo's & rally's fixed I will try & get a run in on monday...Temps are good with the hypoid 85w..I had some leftover when I did my trans swap on the bug.

wow!!! a realy great job on this t case, is so a good idea to remove 1 gear,,, 3 gears t case is a shit alway lost energy!!!

Thanks bud! I like the 2 gear t case alot its holding up to the monster power!

Well I got a little more done, wheels fixed qlo rubba back on, t-case sealed, beefier outputs on the axles & ditched the rear steer for a solid axle...I can go back to rear steer with a easy change up of the tripple walled tubes if needed, but with the power it has I doubt I will.

Damn son the video was killer!!! Crazy crazy power just love it. I like the shrink wrap tran cover! What's up with the alum shocks in the pic above where did those come from?

Sumo ball ends, aluminum tube bodies big enough for pen springs ran internally (3/16"?), mini late model or mini t top shock spacers as bottom caps, and servo screw shock rods? They look REALLY similar to what I'm working up for my mud truck...

Thanks Mike wait till you drive it! You will giggle like a lil school girl when you pull the trigger "thumbsup"

:ror: Those shocks up top are bigger than they appear in the pic, they are for a 1.9 project..

All old skool tlt cross member parts except for the losi mini crawler lower ball ends & stock losi micro springs...

Just noticed the MRC lower ends. So, that means you're using a 3mm shaft with internal springs?

damn widened axles they make 1/18 parts look small

All old skool tlt cross member parts except for the losi mini crawler lower ball ends & stock losi micro springs...nice!!!!

They are for a mrc mudder project.
MRC mudder? Can't wait to see!!!

Sorry for the late reply Bear...The are losi mini shafts & the mods are on some of my other builds...Just have to sleeve the yokes & extend the axle shaft on the axles to get a good bite..I turn down some 1/8 music wire for the job on sumo axles..Never had to run such a beefy shaft on a losi axled rig..

So I pulled this of the shelf last night & started adding some more brass...Front end starting to take shape:
