Something new from Axial, the Axial EXO Terra Buggy! AX90015

Well, I'll have to retract my sarcastic Heli/sea container pic and replace it with this:

(translation: Axial got moving pretty quick on this one!)

Thank you Axial, the AX10 was cool, the SCX series was great, but now the XR/Wraith/Future Buggy run has answered most all off-road enthusiats wants. Awesome! "thumbsup""thumbsup"

i want the black or red one axial needs to give more details about it the pics only give so much so its ifs and 4wd so two things covered hear it might start as a kit instead of like the wraith. Hope the $355 price tag isnt for the kit thats real steep over all kudos to axial for the fast release and its all over the net 4 companies have pre orders for it already lowest is RPP.

WOW! Now my rustler basher need to go, this is my new one!! How about to disconnect the front drive, paddles and some sanddunes?! And just connect the front drive when its needed.

this is pretty damn sweet. i wonder if axial had trhe forethought to use the same gear ratios in the F/R diffs that they offer for the wraith/ax-10 axles so it is super easy to go with a solid rear axle. it would also be nice to see the front us the same universal joint type deal they use on the wraith, too.

and it will proceed to empty our bank accounts. :ror:

To me, this is so much cooler than the wraith, but I'll probably get flamed for that........

I think it's super cool too, as cool as the Wraith IMO. Everyone will think different but no matter what I can't wait to get one and paint it ORANGE

I've got my VXL system that will work but I'm really thinking the Tekin Pro4 will be great.

Jeezus Harley, step away from the EXO...:lmao:

Anyway, you guys that are two feet from one and are taking pictures of the body, how about a close up of the diffs.

Thanks.

I see a lot of bashers hitting the classifieds soon...

This thing with some paddles would be sweet in the dunes. Looks like it takes sc wheels..? There is a lot of options if it does.

I wonder if I can convince my wife that this would be a good rc for my 3 year old. Or maybe I can just act like my 3yo and scream and cry until I get my way.

As I look at it and think about it. What segment is this supposed to fit, or are we making a new one?

No denying it looks really cool and Axial did a great job with it. I guess it's intended to be a basher? I'm assuming it has open diffs, but would be very interested in learning some of the specs. But I already have crawlers and fast SC type rigs. Like Big Daddy stated above, I'm trying to figure out it's target market.

Really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these. Going to try and disconnect the 4wd and run paddles & razors on it. Way to go Axial, job well done!!!

Axial just nailed it with this one I think. Perhaps I can convince my wife that this would be a good starting point for her to get into RC "thumbsup" If not, it's a fun new rig for me!

maybe this is getting that axial/castle brushless system someone accedently mentioned/heard of early on in the wraith thread.

this looks way more appealing then the wraith did very cool and the pics are awesome!

Seriously? Your gonna compare it to a Slash 4x4?

Fortunately for the rest of us I don't think Axial was trying to compete with the Slash 4x4 or any other short course "RACE" truck.

The only thing that is somewhat similar is the center drivetrain section. Tube and (what looks to be) 32p gearing on the spur. Thank god for that btw

Yea I am. It looks like it has roughly the same width and wheel base. Same size tires, and a 4wd system. I dont see much difference once you look past the body. From a basher perspective, I see this as a direct competitor to the slash 4x4.

Although I have not held this rig in my hands I have a few things to disagree with you.

Slash=High COG, This has a LCG chassis already

Slash=Dirt gets into the rear bearings and diffs through numerous holes and causes to melt the little plastic piece the spur rides on and or motor mount. If this is anything like my CKRC converted "slash killer" then there are no problems with sand getting to anything although it's all exposed.

It's bad ass, people with money or who dont care will buy it, the ones that dont have as much $ will wait for the price to go down or just not get it.

The slash does have its problems, but this is a all new rig. So no one knows what problems it will have (XR10?). As for the LCG chassis, I dont look at either of these trucks as racers, I look at them as bashers so to me the advantage here MIGHT go to the slash, as it has more ground clearance.

I am not trying to dog the truck. It does look really really cool. But like I said, once you get past the body its just another 4wd SC, and a very high priced one at that.
