Some Pics from Sunday Nissan 300zx & Datsun 260z turbo

Very nice 300.

I couldn't imagine 17 psi again... The Cummins in my Dodge pulls 55-60.. :ror:"thumbsup" The whistle from a turbo is addictive..

cool.........

j/k

I do miss my 7.3l but I sure dont miss filling it up:!:

As cool as 60 psi may be in your truck remember, it is a truck. I dont want any "aww well its a 7,00Lb truck and it runs 13's". I know all about the under dog story. I drive an 11 second datsun with an original 6cyl. I know its not the the best way to make the power. Back to my point........

Both cars are very nice examples of machines. I've long been a fan of the Datsun 260's especially. Very hard to find model being made for only 1 year. The more common 240 and 280 can't even hold a candle to the 260 styling.

humm......Really?

ok then, name the car.....

This is a 260Z based on its bumper again. The Bumperettes are more centralized.

This is the 240 series, especially noted by its bumperette locations. Out wide of the grill was a common characteristic of the 240's

Here is a 280Z, noticed the very narrow set Bumperettes that look just stuck onto the chrome bumper. Also take note of the side black plastic bumper finishing pieces.

I'd like to someday own a Datsun 260Z, though my true passion lies in the 510's. If I were to add a summer/show car to the stable it would deinfately be a Datsun...would really like to also look into a RB26DETT or a more wild idea I've been thinking of is a Subaru STi motor swap (this would be a pipe dream though most likely).

Can I answer:-P

By the way your 260 does look nice, whats your other plans for it? And that's also a nice 300.

if you think you know pm me and I will let you know.

well. the 260 I own is going back to the track jan 16 and I am hoping for 11.70s or better. gonna go from 20psi in the Drag Radials to maybe 17-16psi. Current best 60' is 1.77. I figure if I can get some 1.6s and I will be running between 18-22 psi next time. So, maybe even 11.50s or better. depents on the air temp though I think. hope it will be ice cold. Sucks for launch but the car sure rips down the track. As off right now the car hits thee 6250 rpm rev-limiter going through the traps in 4th gear.

I blew out my 5th gear and the only tranny I had laying around was a 4 speed so that is all I got. I will just raise the limiter up to 6800 and call it a day.

Next up for the car though is...

re-ring the borom end

some head work
(deshrouding the valves, 5-angle valve job, extrude honning intake manifold, and get the car back on the dyno for some tunning)

Diff is still a factory open. The car is seeing less and less daily driving so I have been thinking of welding it up. Far cheaper than picking up a worn out used LSD on ebay ($600-$1100)

This is a 260Z based on its bumper again. The Bumperettes are more centralized. To be very specific it is a early 260z, basicaly is a 73 240z with 280z tail lights. The late 260z had 280z bumpers and signals
